Also, if it's the only RS in the 991.2 run to be produced, I doubt they'll go through the same madness as they did with the R, pissing off a lot of people.

Sure hope they don't or they'll have some seriously pissed off turbo car fans since you'll get more of the R flipping situation all over again.
But Porsche showed that they are all about the bottom line by continuing to produce 991 RSs so I doubt the GT2RS will be a limited production car.
There will be as many and more then there where 997.1 GT3RS, 997.2GT3RS and 991RS and the numbers have been growing. Yes, it's a GT2 but the speciality of turbo'S is gone.
There will be GT3's manual and PDK
There will be GT3+ called R in manual and PDK borrowing tech from RS justifying pricing above the GTS and GT3 and a model year ahead.
There will be RS. The fasting thing around a race track. Hence the future PDK HYBRID TURBO whatever they can throw at a car to make it lap faster.
This is now the TTS but they have had to dumb it down and make it comfy and quiet to be the ultimate Travel car without stepping on GT toes.
Eventually all Turbo. See Macan, Macan S, Macan Turbo. C2, C2S, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S.
Basically all same engine but bigger and all Turbo just artificially holding back cheaper models.

So perfect, a 911 for everyone and to give MSRP a free ride to unlimited price increases, there will be a GT4 and GT4RS to sell to price point track buyers. GT4 manual and PDK and the RS PDK and everything that makes for better laptimes. (See GT4CS awesome PDK box)
