Default Used GT3's

Currently 40 used for sale on cars.com

I've been following the used market, and quite a few have hit over the last 30-40 days. Noticed them not moving quickly when over sticker. I think the "over sticker" days are over. Seems like new ones listed daily.

Seen them sell at around sticker with 1K or less miles over the last month (mint and garage queens). Anything over 3K miles and over will be selling under sticker. I see the market softening into September and beyond.

I think there are some very unrealistic expectations with what some think the market is paying. Drive it for 5K and expect to recoup your sales tax, PPF, and clear side marker costs?? Ummmm...

Not trying to bash on the GT3. I love the GT3, just have noticed a certain frenzy with them which I think has changed over the last couple months with RS's showing up and the "impulse" buyers who bought and now selling.

Full disclosure, I own a C2S, but love all 911's and some great posts on this board.

I just don't see many on the sidelines waiting to buy one still unless fairly discounted. I think most who want one, have one at current prices.

Just making observations, don't beat up on me!
I'm looking at Cars.com and it seems like they are all listing significantly over sticker. Where are you seeing data that they are selling just over sticker in the last month?

What they're listing for, and selling at are two different things.

Most used ones are going for around sticker with low (under 1,500 miles), and under sticker for higher mileage (like 4K plus I'd say).

Prices have been dropping

Keep an eye out. There have been posts with dealers selling at MSRP and some decent deals.

Don't pay 25K over to some dealer for a new one. A joke. Unless you want that money gone the minute you drive it off the lot. You'll never see that again.

Where are you getting the data on sales prices, and how many transactions have you actually seen at or near sticker?

Was offered a new 2016 Rhodium Silver with white dials, lift, PCCB's, leather interior, leather interior package, smoking package, PDLS, satellite radio, sound package plus, extended range fuel tank, automatically dimming mirrors with rain sensor, and luggage net in passenger footwell for MSRP ($154,215) yesterday. Not really looking and not my ideal spec. If interested, pm me and I will forward info.

Have communicated with people that have sold and monitored listings.

I think they may finally be falling just a wee bit. But if it has LWBs and extended fuel tank...another story...

Predictable.

Obviously a rough "average" but pretty much looks like this ...

Depreciation:

20K yr one
10K yr two
10K yr three
Year 4+ less than 10K/yr ... and so on. Less per additional year.

And this is as low as a total of 10K miles after 3 yrs. More miles, and it's worse.

I wonder how the 991 GT3 compares to the 997 GT3 after 2 years. In 2013 I was seeing 2010 997 GT3s selling for under $100k.

PTS cars will command a premium.
Any thoughts on what a reasonable premium should be on a PTS car?
