Yep, AP and WR has been talking a lot about weight saving instead of Hp increase. So thats probably the route they are taking with 991.2 gt3/rs! But don't be surprised if the HP war comes back when the 992 is on the horizon.

I'm really looking forward to the 991.2 gt models. With how good this first gen is the second gen will be the lightweight dream we have been waiting for..

Sounds good as long as those Mag wheels are held on with 5 lugs

I know very little about the racing regs, but my impression was that some of the racing rules are evolving in the direction of turbocharging and that is at least partly responsible for the future turbocharging of the GT cars.

I expect Ferrari will be running turbos at Le Mans next year, as will Ford...

Relatively easy way to extract more torque from a flat six

I was told similar by PAG employee some time ago. It makes sense I guess but it will be a shame IMO.

and why should we trust AP?
what special power does he have?
what % of VWAG/PAG does he own?
when he has 51% voting share, i might start paying some attention.
it's a business, it's about money, NOTHING else matters.

So with the 991.2 GT3/RS coming out, in what I would imagine some time from now, can we expect another model year for the RS 991.1? 2016?????

Anyone? Thanks in advance!

Latest news from another thread is that they will make 991.1RS until at least April 2016. And that PTS was now possible all the way to the end of production. So hopefully we get some news on 991.2 gt3 next summer/fall?

On just the PTS portion of what you wrote, I would not necessarily infer all of what was perhaps inadvertently implied in that statement. So caveat lector.

Yes, they may wind up building PTS cars but no more will be accepted at this point. Hopefully that changes with time, but it does not look promising.
