LOL...I know what you mean. I did the Tech Equip rollbar solo in my 996.3. Took 8 hours and I lost my voice from all the profanity...

For those that have the Cantrell with LWB's...is there any restriction on how far the seat can slide back ? In other words, can the seat be slid all the way back without the roll bar interfering with the back of the head ?

How do you lift the cushion? I know it lifts from the rear but appears to be hung up on the pressure bladder.

I plan to Dremel out the opening in the shell.
Joe's Track journal shows how to take out the seat cushion, there is a little white clip that attaches to wires on the seat, you will need to remove them, takes a little dexterity with a screw driver (me) or needle nose (Joe).

Once you get the cushion off, I detailed how to cut the hole in the passenger seat here:

I have LWBs and a Cantrell bar - the seats CAN be moved all the way back without hitting the bar.

Cantrell bar DOES restrict the backward travel on the 18 ways. So I guess the LWBs don't have as much travel. Interesting.

You can get to the clips in the back corner of the seats. Use a hook tool to release the wire, just don't break the clips. Peel the seat away from the velcro.. I drilled the seat with a whole saw on each end of the slit to match the drivers side and then used my Fien Tool to cut out the middle. I used a sanding wheel to clean up the cuts. I then covered the edge with upholstery retainer like we had on old cars.

Thank you for the pic! I'll do this with the seats out of the car while I install the roll bar. Will pickup an oscillating tool also - looks like a better solution then a dremel.

The seat carbon is very thin just go slow.
I have LWB's and have lots of room between the seat and the bar with the seat all the way back...

Any thoughts on the installation time, using LWB seats, no hole for passenger seat, and installing the roll bar, sub bar for driver's seat, and 6-pt harness for driver's seat?

I would say 12-15 hours if you have all the tools. I took it a bite at a time so not sure exactly how much time it actually took. I could cut the time in half now that I have done it once and know what to expect.

I'm starting 7 AM Saturday... We'll find out!

I installed my GMG bar in my 997.1 RS. That was FUN. Lots of expletives.

I don't have the sub bars or belts yet (black Schroth GT3 Profi2).
