Also, the RS (and to some extent the base GT3) is a halo car.

They're there to create an image for the underlying marque, not necessarily to meet the basic rationality of most supply-and-demand economics that drive just about every other corporate decision at a company.

Oh, and on another point, he had a 918 he bought for the dealership. they then sold it to a customer, and the allocations moved to the customer, not sure if that will happen with owner to owner sales however...

I am sure there are many others. For most people, it's a trophy. If they don't buy this one, they'll just buy something else from another manufacturer.
