Same reason why we all buy newer cars, we like that new car smell and the newest car on the block. Yeah they might those on some new lights, tune another 2-3% more HP/TQ, etc but it won't be a platform change.

Same money, would you take a facelifted 991.2 Turbo C2S with a 3.2L engine or a used 991.1 TTS with 3.8L engine? It's a different problem for Porsche and different choice for customers than in the past.

Default extended range gas tank

I see the question about whether people ordered the extended range tank or not was raised in this thread on 4/12, but I don't see any discussion of it.

Right now, I don't have it configured with the extended range tank. I will track my car and my logic was that a bigger tank could need more gas in it (more weight) to function properly at the track due to "slosh" factor, but I have no evidence either way on this as I don't understand where the expansion in tank shape happens. I generally put 6 gallons in my 996TT for a track session and I know it has two side saddles that have pickups in the bottom of each as they go around the front drive system.

The obvious pro is that on the street you have fewer stops at the gas station with additional 7 gallons, but does anyone with more knowledge have any sense of other pros/coms of the extended range tank?

Is anyone else not ordering it, and if so, why?

I was worrying about this too. But I think it's not going to affect my lap time so I changed my order to 90liter tank. But every bit counts.

I'm not the right person to ask because I've been brainwashed to buy used cars to save on depreciation (and lately on sales tax). Two totally different cars at the same price....I'd go with the used TTS.

The debate about second hand value on the RS is already started. http://www.total911.com/sales-debate...d-hand-market/

That's in Europe. I could not get 5K over for my GT3 on this website. A lot depends on how many RSs they actually make. They had a hard time selling the 918 out and now they bring a minimum of 300K over. YMMV

It's probably not worth the $500 that it costs, but I *love* it. I spec it out on all my 991 / 981 cars. It adds a very nice feel to the interior.

Update: still for November build but delivery is now estimated to be Dec 25. Still no word on PTS. I was told that ordering Lightweight battery would delay build no idea why. Beginning to think that a wrap would be a better idea, protect the paint and still get black cheaper than PTS.... I've never wrapped a car before so I have no idea what I'm talking about

A bigger tank doesn't need to be filled completely if you're worried about weight.

I can tell you first hand it's one of the best items on my list. It extends substantially road use between fills and can get me through a day at the track w/o refills.

It's free. I'd take it if I were you.

Hmmm, birds of a feather. November build. Black PTS requested. Thought of wrapping it...

My brief search led me to conclude wrapping is more expensive unless you plan to wrap the car (clear) anyway. I don't. Moreover, it doesn't last indefinitely so you have to re-wrap from time to time. (To some, that's a plus)

Really hoping for PTS w/ either a Sep or Mar build so I can get a Euro delivery.

Pure speculation, but I was in at my dealer on Saturday and we were talking about RS PTS. We both thought it would probably cost $10k to do based on what has been charged for the previous RS.
