It is 110 lbs lighter than the old one. The as tested weight per car and driver of the v10 coupe was 3687 lbs. So this 3250 dry weight is meanless. I am thinking it will be closer to3500lbs for the coupe on the road, if not a tad more. My friends v10 cab was tested at 3900lbs. These are not light cars and they do not feel light either. Tons of understeer also. The new car will be lighter, but it will not be light but any measure.
I would have thought less than 3400 wet

So far base prices announced for Europe only: "At present Audi has only announced pricing and availability for Europe, where the new R8 will launch this summer at 165,000 euros for the V10 and 187,400 for the V10 Plus". And don't bother to do a quick € to $ conversion - US prices will be cheaper & include more options as standard equipment than those in Europe! We will have to wait & see what AudiUSA set prices here & what is included at that price!

All-Electric Audi R8 e-tron - Official
from the press release:
The R8 e-tron achieves an electric range of approximately 280 miles - a considerable improvement over the technology platform’s 133 miles - with an energy density that has been increased from 84 Wh/kg to 154 Wh/kg and some other modifications to the car. The electrically powered high-performance sports car has the Combined Charging System (CCS) on board, which allows charging with direct and alternating current. Using this system, it is possible to fully charge the battery in significantly less than two hours.
The power is now 462PS and the maximum torque 920Nm. The R8 e-tron 2.0 accelerates from 0 to 62mph in 3.9 seconds on its way to an electronically restricted top speed of 130mph or 155mph. Intelligent energy management and an electromechanical brake system enable high energy recuperation rates. Targeted torque vectoring – needs-based distribution of power transmission between the rear wheels – ensures maximum stability and dynamism.

speaking of R8... slightly off-topic but my 2015 Audi R8 Competition (one of 60) just got built this past week. the exterior color is matte Daytona Grey and the factory was very kind to take pictures and send them over before the car is air freighted:

When they all arrive, we'll need a pic of the R8, 918, RS and whatever else is in your stable, all lined up together.
(By they way, what color is that? Looks alot like pure metal silver from the BMW Zagato)

Congrats on LMX anonymous. Also glad you're keeping with tradition to have her airlifted to CA

I have to say, I much prefer the exterior styling of the 2015 R8 Competition (Gen 1) vs. the 2016 R8 V10 Plus (Gen 2).
I don't like what they did to the headlights, or the exhaust tips.

Looks amazing in this color.
From the article:
The first thing we noticed about the R8 V10 is the color Santorinblau paint, Santorini Blue Pearlescent for us English speakers. Part code Q0Q0, this is quite different to the color sold under the same name by BMW since before the days of the 8-Series.
