Ian Kuah Review - First Pictures of Yellow GT3 etc

Honestly gotta say I got board watching him shift in just that short video. I get that Porsche needed to offer automatic as an option and no question it'll be faster on track, but for the street meh. If the car can shift for itself as good if not better than the driver then paddles seem redundant and superfluous.
Speed yellow looks great.
Bring on the manual attack dogs.

I am confidant of that; sarcasm on both fronts.
Many here have to express their continuous dislike for anything auto-mated.
Confidant neither is anywhere near boring.
Yeah... now you've got me thinking about a little something, something I met.

When he met the car traveling the opposite direction, did it not briefly flash its headlights? I'm not sure if that means the same thing in Europe, but maybe he was worried there would be a rozzer up ahead, so toned it down a bit.
I saw the flash, and immediately thought 'slow down to see what's ahead.'

Something else that caught my eye. On the interior instrument image showing the little torque display, it looks like he's got a full tank(ish) and a 426km range to empty.
Don't know which size tank it has, but you can do some math from there.
~15mpg based on the way the car has been driven and a 17 gallon tank?

My wife too. I prefer the old Speed Yellow I had on my 6GT3 tho but a long shot.
In the article he gives away a little detail we havent seen before. I believe the "lighter flywheel" comment is an indication as to what we may see in the new 991 GT3 RS. No one yet has complained about the flywheel needing to be lighter so my guess is hes had some inside information from the engineers during the presentation and perhaps this is his way of introducing the idea. I dont believe they will hange the capacity of the engine and I think playing with the ratios will be difficult in teh RS now there are 7 so perhaps small fettling like software and a flywheel is pointing to teh direction with which the factory will help differentiate the two models. Im not sure it will lead to any improved times but it may well give the car a slightly different feel...
Like most he talks about a strong desire to get this car on the track and I believe this is where the car will REALLY start to convince many of the naysayers. My sources tell me this is a phenominally quick car on a shortish track and 10 laps will convince you your old GT3 is no longer the trackmeister you may have thought it was (although neither is my 993 buts its a lot of fun going slow too!).

I wonder if they will extract more bhp from the engine from the RS or simply repeat the 997.1 RS "theme" ...
I agree that ratro playing might be a bit more challenging, but again look at the 7.2 RS with the shorter final and 1-5 ...
only time will tell...
p.s macca did you predict this post (from me) too? - do I owe you another $?
