TRG is racing Astons, that have about as much in common with the street Astons as the 991 has with CUP cars.
They even had a N24 version that was based on the Nurburgring racecar.

Wow. The arguments over this "Nissan GTR" of 911 GT3's will rage on until long after the thing arrives. Rear steer and PTV. What the hell is that going to mean for the RS? And the Cup has none of this? Better flappy paddles and no mention of a third pedal? Well, an even faster PDK and 9000 rpm ... whatever it's shortcomings, that's going to be a lot of <expletive deleted> fun on the track!

Parking assistance through rear wheel steering for tight spaces is a big plus in my book.
Have you seen my bloody garage?
Let's see if it has a couple of off buttons. Here's hoping..
Agreed on the weight but I'm not surprised.
Generally speaking it will be fast but we knew that already.
We are talking faster than the gap between a 996 and 997.2 fast IMO.
Even for the average Joe.
Will it feel GT3 good remains to be seen.

Did I read something right...
LEFT for upshifts????
Car seems... impressive I suppose. But very busy.
Am undecided... I'm sure its extremely fast.
Two modes are available to the driver: manual shifting or the adaptive shift programme. Manual shifting is achieved using two paddles on the steering wheel, the left-hand for upshifts and the right-hand for downshifts. Shorter shifting travel and optimised actuating force result in even faster gearshifts with concise feedback, similar to the operating characteristics of the 911 GT3 Cup race car. Alternatively, the driver can also shift using the selector lever, with a shift pattern based on that used in professional motor sports: shifting up is done by pulling the lever back, shifting down by pushing it forward.

"donut mode" neutral in PDK
"half a car length" per shift
Rocker arm valve gear. This is not a Carrera engine!
Shorter gears instead of higher top speed. Amen to that!
Clearly Mr Preuninger, though assuring us he's not "marketing" does a good job of learning his lines and delivering his pitch.
(That's not to say I'm not "sold" on the sales pitch ... 9000 rpm, 475 hp, 100ms upshift ... hard to argue with that ...)

As for electric steering. Hmmm … here's hoping it's as "exacting" as promised in the GT3. But what is "steering" if the rear of the car has literally a mind of its own?

AP "the car goes like hell"
Can they speak like that on camera? Shocking
Will the engine find its way in the race cars?
"I guess so! :insert_smiley:

Looking at the car, it's left = down on the wheel, forward = down on the lever (which is the opposite of the 991 & 997 Carrera lever and is now the same as a sequential shifter "logic.")
