I feel very lucky that it made it with the correct carbon hood and Michelins.
Sorry about the hold up on your cars. Hope you get them soon.

Huge Congratulations Jon!

It will be interesting to see which one of us smiles sooner.

Validates our decision to keep the .1 GT3 as well. Any delivery delay just pushes out the warranty on the new car. We wouldn't use the RS in winter anyway. Don't know what the fuss is about: good things are worth waiting for, etc.

Default Fuss

Well being one of the guys affected, with an RS on the Bangkok right now...
I don't want my car sitting in port at Houston for 3 to 4 months, and being "field serviced" in port instead of at a dealer...

That's why I'm fussing.

I sincerely feel for you. My RS build completed on 12/7 - Pearl Harbour Day, so I joked then that some surprise would be in the offing! I don't give two hoots what ship it's on and they are welcome to store it at a port for a few months. We aren't short of cars and I've yet to meet a RL member that was. I just want it for May next year at WGI and can even suffer missing VIR in March. Having spent nearly two decades working with manufacturers (not Porsche, sadly) that have to field service or otherwise modify or correct factory work at the ports pretty much constantly I can tell you there is no difference between what they do and what the dealer does. The techs dispatched to port facilities have the same level of training and potentially more. They are not short of equipment. If there is a specific problem on all the cars they will surgically deal with that issue. It doesn't preclude proper PPI by your dealer. Be glad the issue has been caught and will be remediated before you begin to really love the car. Believe me, it is even more irritating to wave goodbye to one as it leaves the track to address...oh, I don't know....a finger follower issue and is offline for a month at the height of summer, and one has to use a spare car instead. I could get fussed over the fact that this delay earlier in process might have allowed us the ED we had looked forward to, but one can't change anything, so I'm not bothered fussing. Enjoy the holidays, relish the anticipation, and when it comes enjoy the car in good health.

If there is significant time loss( 4 plus months) I will bet you PAG will grant the extension.

They will not leave any one . Been thru this at the Port in 2014 and they stepped up but you need to ask.

If there is one thing for certain- despite everyone's bitching, Porsche takes a heck of a lot better care than any car Mfg out there.

For another data point my GT3 RS WP is an 11/28 build and is on the Bishu Highway to Jax...the tracking still shows a January delivery, also confirmed by a phone call to PCNA.

Called the 800 number today and was told my 2018 Manual GT3 (11/09/18 completion date) is on quality control hold at the Davisville Port. The new delivery date is 4/5/19 at the moment.

At least now they acknowledge the quality control hold. A week ago they did not and said no problems and on time.

I just got off the phone with Anita at PCNA and she was unaware and not able to tell me if my car was on port hold or not. Seems like the system isn't very good or up to date as she was saying the car is suppose to arrive in port at the end of the week when in fact it has been at port since Saturday. My delivery date to dealer still has not changed though according to her but there is a possible chance of delay

It looks like production is back up to more typical ranges. I'm not sure if it stopped for a couple days because of this issue or if it was planned for some reason. Definitely seems like the issue is with some November produced cars, I haven't heard of a delay with a December car yet.
