Depends. Do you want a sound system with components cheaper than what you'd get in a $50,000 Mercedes or at least equivalent to it?

I haven't heard it in the new GT3 but in my old 991.1 the Bose was at least decent.

This is what I found on the Porsche website. Noise compensation tech sounds fun in a GT3..............

"BOSE® Surround Sound System with 12 loudspeakers including centre speaker and a subwoofer integrated into the vehicle body. Fully active sound system with a total output of 555 watts. BOSE® Centerpoint® 2 and SurroundStage® technologies enable the system to play stereo recordings in a virtual surround mode. AudioPilot® Noise Compensation Technology ensures that the acoustic pattern is constant and well balanced in all driving conditions"
They really do sell it well. 😊
I couldn't find a similar description of the base system though. Does it only have 4 speakers? Is there a sub?

I do like speed compensated volume.

If you plan on listening to music at all the choice is pretty obvious.

If the sound matches the amount of features, the BOSE actually sounds well-priced. I ordered it, hope it sounds at least decent when I want to amble along in low rpm on highway.

Anyone have experience with it yet?

Have you ever driven a car and thought the sound system was ****? If not, you will probably never notice the difference.

Porsche 150 watt system is probably plenty but when you're already spending ~$180k what's 1% more.

Problem with bose is that they put their name on a lot of crap. Some bose systems are actually quite good.

Nothing in Audi VW Porsche sounds like my BMW 330 prologic 7 or my M4 Harman Kardon

The Noise Compensation Technology just turns the volume up as cabin noise increases at higher speeds. It’s nothing fancy like noise cancelling technology...

I wear noise cancelling headphones in the GT3 on long drives to the track, so that tells you something about the “concert hall” of an interior the GT3 has.

It was just fine. Not great, but fine. So now with the new GT3, the Sound Package Plus is the base system. I.e. what was the upgrade in the GT4 is the base system in the .2 GT3. Since it was adequate in the 4, I figured it was good enough for the 3. Plus, I felt the need to make sacrifices to fund my "must have" options of lift and buckets, which were basically my only expensive options on my otherwise-stripper build, which I wanted to keep in the low to mid $150s.

Bottom line, I don't think you'll miss it, but if adding $1600 to you build doesn't phase you, get it. If it does, it's an easy thing to live without. Had I done Touring I would've spec'd 18-ways and Bose, but I opted for wing, buckets and no Bose. No regrets.

Where resale is concerned, if yours is a stripper, don't get it. If it's got lots of leather and interior upgrades, get it. Because at resale someone looking for a stripper won't care, and someone looking for a decked out car will.
I think this sums it up nicely

Meh. I have two speakers in my truck. It’s fine. 8 speakers sounds downright luxurious.

I’m sticking with no Bose. Don’t need a fancy radio in this car and could care less about resale. If I ever have to sell this car something’s gone horribly wrong in my life and the least of my worries is gonna be the stereo in my car.

I got it because the sound system in my GT4 is one of the worst I have heard.
