If it means anything this clutch is really easy. Nothing like the 997.2 GT3 clutch. The traffic situation is a different story.

and yet I'd say for 95%+ of NYC surface street owners, PDK. Probably even a TTS over GT3. And in my own reality, mid 30's/limber, I'd probably even end up DD'ing Landcruiser/LX with ARB steel F&R bumpers down in the jungle.

In all seriousness though, you seem to have an unusually high threshold, and if already set on GT3 (these 991's are reasonably compliant), why not roll the dice on the MT? Short throws, relatively light/avg clutch weight, autorev match, launch control to get to that next traffic hold-up 500ft away. I'm sure you could swap out of it with ease after realizing it may be too much.

I hope all you people on the fence get PDK so that my manual is even more rare/valuable.

J/K , get the manual. For no other reason than you know you want to. You just wanna hear us say it.

In the epic struggle between head and heart, always follow the heart. And I can tell by your post, that means manual.

"Flappy paddles are for Grandmas'". If you want to sip your Starbuck's "felipe mosquito roasted mocha infused with apple syrup latte with a pinch of VJ" when driving- then get the PDK

Manual, particularly for commuting. I have both in my current cars and, while the PDK is awesome when really pushing the car, the manual is more fun everywhere else. If I ever get an allocation, it'll be manual.

🤦🏻 Excellent points made by both sides of the debate. Such a great difficult decision to have!

I don't drink latte but PDK does allow me to pet my dog while in transit. Gotta keep the boss happy!

Whoa, daily driving in NYC!? Brutal. My GT4 hides in the garage all week long and though I love driving it and wish I could get more miles behind the wheel, I would hate to actually drive it every day in NYC. I don't really enjoy PDK but I would do it for a city dd where half your time is spent from 0-5mph.

Really though, I would buy something cheap, comfortable, and compact that could stand up the war zone of NYC streets and win the right of way games of chicken. A new Porsche will always lose. There's a mini cooper that parks on the street in my neighborhood with massive aftermarket front and rear tube steel bumpers - its perfect...

For the guys out there that already received or drove a manual GT3 does the manual .1 GTS feel similar? I test drove a manual 991 two years ago and I was not impressed (don’t remember if S)

You guys seriously crack me up! Should have never mentioned the DD in NYC thing it ended up being a distraction lol.
Of course some of you are correct, I just want to hear people tell me everything will be okay and get a manual haha. But damn that PDK is sweet as well.
And no, I won't find the car will be too much and get rid of it. At worst it would get parked in the garage and taken out sparingly, but having a history of driving cars everyone said would be too much for these streets I think I'll be okay. but who knows. Never afraid to admit when I'm wrong.

Also that doggy is way too cute! I need a copilot. The current blonde is very expensive. Damn I hope she didnt read that!

I have not purchased the newer GT3's because they were not manual. Only manual for me. I still have my ABS only 2004 GT3.
