Unless it's going to be used almost exclusively on track - get the manual. The car is so good it's almost lifeless at normal driving speeds. You need the manual to get the full enjoyment out of it.

if you are someone who is still undecided which transmission to go for, then its safe to say that, you won't be disappointed with either one, but most guys that been driving MT most of their life won't have a hard time to decide which one to choose.
I want to share a story with you all, 2 months ago, as I was driving the tundra to work. I saw a black 991 S, at the stop light, got right next to it and see who was driving it, to my amazement it was a 70-80yr old lady driving a manual transmission. My eyes was glued at the black beauty staring at the sun rise, as the lights turn green, which is hard to see because the sun is rising behind it, she shifts in 1st and glide through the left turning lane, smoothly through as my lights turn green and heading in different direction. I stop by my wife's work and told her I'm teaching her to drive a manual that day.
It made my day just to experience that, she got to be at least late 70s early 80, full grey hair, still seems like in great shape. Lucky i was driving the truck that morning or I would never seen the MT, she shifts so smooth and clean. I'm not sure if I could still be driving a MT at that age, clutch is getting heavier lol

Odd to keep bringing this topic back up, but I will say this:
I was scouring the country for a manual car but couldn’t find anything with an ADM I felt okay with. My dealer had a near perfect spec build that the buyer fell out on and they called me. Only thing is it’s a PDK. They knew I was looking for manual but after seeing this build I was in love. Add in the fact that my dealer, Gaudin Porsche gave me a ton of love on it and I pulled the trigger.
I also own a 1982 911 and a Boss 302 in manual so it wasn’t a big deal to go PDK. I was mainly looking for manual because it seems like everyone on these forums keeps talking about it. While I’m sure it’s amazing to experience in manual, I will say the PDK affords the ability to experience the car on the limit that I won’t be able to replicate rowing my own gears. I rarely hit redline in my other cars, but PDK allows an owner to comfortably explore the upper rpm ranges without worry of misshifts etc.
I’m still at 300 miles so I haven’t driven my car this way yet, but my C4S in sport plus and driven in anger was an amazing experience. Call me soft but the PDK just allows me to drive harder without worry. And I’m someone who has had to rebuild my 82 911 transmission so I’m not afraid of driving hard.

If I were going to get a PDK I would get a used .1 with 10 yr 120k mile engine warranty and save myself 40-50k. Or I would get an .1 or .2 RS with pdk. The whole point of the 991.2 GT3 is the manual.

Absolutely + 1.....if people think they get connected to the car or experience by jerking a stick or flapping a paddle, they should reach out the door and touch the pavement while moving to really justify their connection to the road statements....nonsense...
