Default Our European Tour

Hello fellas;

Wanted to thank RL for recommending to us some amazing spots during our travels in Germany, Switzerland, and France. We had a fantastic time. Spent 7 days in total and took almost 500 pictures, these are some of my favorites.

Arrived in Frankfurt, picked up a diesel MB drop top and gunned it to Stuttgart, day 1:

On the way out, we noticed some very nice rides in the garage at the Museum including the Porsche Drive.

GTR MB

Amazon Blue

.2 GT3 in the "new" yellow. I was assured this is not the "saffron" yellow, but some new yellow. Looked great

Chalk GTS, also looked sexy

Day 2: Next stop, Neuschwanstein Castle.

We have an unhealthy relationship with the Audi RS6 Avant:

Day 3: Zurich was next....will upload pics later lol, taking forever to upload

Day 4/5: Colmar and Strasbourg, FR
Holly hell these are beautiful towns!

Day 6: Baden-Baden and Black Forest
My favorite part of the trip.

On the B500 in Black Forest, we attempted to stay close with a pac of Porshes (997 GT3, 991.2 GTS x2, 991 GT3, and a 991.2 TTS cab)

Day 6-7: ...back to Frankfurt. Please, please if you ever visit FRA, make sure you stop at Klassikstadt (http://www.klassikstadt.de). It's FREE and they have a fantastic collection of cars. The restaurant there is also amazing. They also serve as a garage and had an amazing collection of cars requiring service.

I just came back on a similar trip with Autobahn Adventures. Was an epic trip as we did 4 countries (Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Austria) and had a 991.2 4S at our disposal. I had the same attraction to the Audi RS6 Avant. They're stunning and one blew by me on the autobahn like I was standing still and I was going 150MPH... I didn't know they existed and after I saw one I had my eyes open for them as they look so cool.

Congratulations on your Euro vacation.

When you have time, tells us more about
this 'new yellow' color. Who told you about
it? Who did you ask? Etc!

We at Rennlist have talked about this
particular 'yellow' .2 991 gt3 before:

It was initially suggested by someone
here (Will) that it was possibly 'Saffron',
but he soon retracted that claim to his
credit!

I have an Audi RS7 (2016) in 'Nardo Gray' &
previously owned from new a 2003 Audi RS6'.
They are something special!

Thinking you were stalking us, WTF! Flew into Frankfort and picked up a 525 series coal burner and drove straight to Entzime (sp) just outside of Strasbourg. Saw the crane working on the canal too. And next day we visited Colemar, and little Venice. Then to Switzerland, Italy, Switzerland, Heidelberg, then home.
We will repeat with variations next year.

Looks like a well planned out trip, great pics! I am in Germany and Zurich almost every month and they are great places to visit.

Know all those area well so you made some good choices. A lot of people just blow by Baden Baden but I think it is well and truly worth the stop if doing the Black Forest. So nice itinerary for the short time you had.

Great trip! Euro Delivery is a blast, should be done more frequently. Agree with Black Forest and Baden Baden- I recommend it to everyone.

Oddly I am on ED right now! Was supposed to be in my new GT3, but there were problems so Porsche to their credit gave me a loaner...brand new Turbo that is loaded. Still I a week of travels left!

I’d rather have my manual GT3! Fast but so quiet.

I was told issues with registration and the German government. Not sure. Allegedly all USA residents doing ED are effected. It’s just odd I can pick up a Turbo at Zuffenhausen, but can’t pick up my GT3 there or in Leipzig.

Hello Eduardo

So my conversation & source was the gentleman who works for Porsche Drive. You can see him next to the Chalk 991.2 GTS in one of my pictures. He informed me that this car was posted in a Instagram post & was referred to as “saffron “. He told me this was not accurate. Saffron yellow is a new color they are testing & is only on the Turbo. This GT3 is a new-er shade of yellow. He did not provide me with a name, however. To me, it looks like signal yellow but I could be wrong. It’s a deep yellow with hints of orange & reds.

Hope that helps.
