Thanks
To all that participated in the effort, great job! It's quite a nice thing to see a company step up for their customers and deliver. Not something you see every day.

This is increadible news. Thanks to the COG team and the fantastic Rennlist community. Proud to be a member of this community. Also kudos to Porsche for standing behind their products and supporting the pasionate group of GT owners.

There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said 100x+ in this thread before me, but I just wanted to chime in with my thanks. Rob and company: you guys did an amazing job pushing this through. This is almost unbelievable. I guess a big part of me just assumed Porsche would take the typical corporate stance and do what they could to absolve themselves of responsibility. The fact that they didn't -- and owned it to this extent -- really reaffirms my faith in the company and my loyalty to the brand. Although they might eat a few more engines, I think this will benefit their brand tenfold with this major boost in GT consumer confidence.

Thanks Tony, and everyone else.
Right now your comments could be "thanks for trying," or "good effort." Porsche could have ignored our letter, or sent the typical corporate response. You know, we appreciate you reaching out to us, we take pride in the reliability of our cars, etc.
Porsche had many easy, inexpensive options available to deal with our letter, but they chose the most challenging, most costly option instead. How many other big company would have taken that path?

Ok, all you sandbagging 991.1 GT3 drivers out there, stop worshiping your trophies and go drive the snot out of the car. Treat her like the betch she is, after all, how else are you going to be sure you don't have a defect in the finger followers?

Actually you really need to daily drive it around town at tame speeds and low rpm's to make the defect come to light easier...at least based on how I read things that it was the low rpm stuff that made it happen. It just kicks off the engine fault code and limp mode at over 7K rpm.
