991.1 GT3 COG: Our Meeting with PCNA/PAG plus Porsche's Official Announcement
#393
It's just a shame that no OPCs in the UK knew about this (or if they did, they didn't let on !)
Hopefully should provide some peace of mind
(however, my car is currently having its FOURTH engine installed today - the last one was a G series that lasted 7K miles...)
Fault report - remember this is a G series engine...

Wow, 4 engines, including a G...
How was this supposedly avoided with the .1 rs and R engines? They too don’t have the solutions from new .2 engines which (again supposedly) have resolved this issue for good. Could it be that they’re simply not driven as much as the gt3?

It for sure works in Canada as a buddy just got a new 'G" engine.

"G" isn't "G". Only the engines produced later during the "G" modell year have the new DLC-coated camshafts. If these engines fail too, porsche will have to replace many many engines during the next decades
@redgt3
Do you know the engine number of you last engine? When was it installed?

Really ?
now that is interesting !
I'm getting the car back either tomorrow or Thursday - I'll be sure to check the engine number !
I thought all the G series had the updated metallurgy ?

We didn’t meet with Porsche until August 2017, and there was no sure fix until right around that time. So any engine installed before that time potentially has the FF problem.

So are ALL G-engines in the .1 RS and the R in the "problem-free" range?
