Default Higher Mileage CPO or Low Mileage non

I've been searching high and low the last couple of months for the exact Cayman S I want. I've been looking for a 2007+ in blue with a black or tan interior.

I located a 2008 blue away the way for $28,900. it has 33,000 miles but it comes with the two years Porsche From a Porsche dealer. this is higher mileage than I've been looking at which is been less than 20 K. I wanted to get your guys opinion on if you would buy a slightly higher mileage car with the warranty or get a lower mileage car with a really good pre-purchase inspection.

I'm trying to be patient, but I have found it to be difficult to find a blue one with all the criteria I want. This one has a grey interior which I was in find out at first but I'm starting to grow on.I'm also worried about resale value if I want to turn this car around in a few years it seems like ones with 40 K or more miles drop off in price significantly. I only planned on putting a couple thousand miles on a year but it still worries me. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated

Sorry for the mistakes. I meant to say its a ways away so I'm going to have to ship it. And it comes with a 2 year Porsche warranty.

Buy the car you want in the color combo you like. At that age, I would not worry about depreciation in the future because the curve is already pretty flat and 33k miles is nothing really for these cars mechanically speaking. Before you buy it, fly out and take a look to make sure it is really what you want and that it has been taken care of cosmetically as well.

Frank,

Thanks a lot for your reply. Maybe it's just my perception, but it seemed like the cars with ~30k and less miles were going for $37k+ and the one's with 40k+ miles fell off several thousand dollars, but maybe that's just me.

Yeah I know it would be a great to go down and look at the car and I might end up doing that. I might have to risk putting down the deposit since the dealer says there's interest, but that could also just be the dealer being a dealer.

What do you think about the price? I'm trying to get him down another 1,000 but not sure he will. I love blue so I'm tempted to jump on it since I have had such a hard time finding a blue one.

Anyone have any experience with the gray interior? How's it look? From the pics it seemed cheaper looking and washed out, but it could be just the pictures.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with the usual Cayman market since I purchased my car for full race car conversion so all of the interior was removed and imperfections on the body were covered with vinyl. I think that these cars are a great deal for the fun factor they provide at a "reasonable" price.

Put down a deposit to take it of the market and invest your time and money to fly to wherever the car is. Looking at it in person is cheap insurance.

I would definitely take the one with the CPO. I've had my car since December, and I've already had to replace the radio and the passenger side window regulator under warranty. It's not just the engine that you have to worry about on these things. The electronics can be quite expensive, and from what I've seen, they can fail often.

Thanks for the input from both of you. I was kind of willing to pay the extra cost for the CPO for that reason. Any repairs on the non-CPO could quickly make up the difference.

That car looks sweet Frank!

CPO is the way to go IMHO. Sight unseen is a gamble even from a reputable dealer, buyers remorse could set in if you didn't see/drive/PDI it yourself. Doing the see it, drive it, PBI it deal this weekend. Happy shopping.

Be safe

For that price, order a new one and get it exactly how you want it.
