As troy asks, does it fit the 981?

The original design is not obsolete as we are still offering it as a less expensive option. The major advantages over the new one is the additional adjustability, and the fact that it can be removed without removing your license plate from the frame.

Got mine today and installed it after I figured out the threads are reversed. I know the factory did this, I wonder why? Installed fine and looks great!

Well, was going to go for a drive tonight and the center parking sensor would not go off. Just now noticed that the license plate covers up a sensor. Any suggestions from Rennline?

There are a series of mounting holes on the back of the mounting plate. On the parking sensor cars, this plate will need to be moved all the way to the left, so that its out of the way of the sensors.

In mounting the bracket, I saw all the available holes and thought it would obstruct the running light on that side. It does partially block the light but does not block the sensor or show up on the PCM display. I think an adaptor/extension coming off the ball that allows the plate to be lower might fix the problem.

A note to all that Rennline has been very quick to respond to the issue of the parking sensors and they have offered to have my product picked up via UPS for the return.
