Overheating Boxster S on hot track day
My temps consistently went into the red zone last August at Lime Rock on a 105 degree day in my '11 Boxster S. I had to park the car 11 minutes into each session that day.
Bummer!
I installed the central (3rd) radiator over the winter.
I was at Summit Point (WV) this past weekend and it got to 105.
Presto !!! No more overheating !!!! The temp needle went 1 mark beyond the normal 175 and never went any higher -- this was in repeated 30-minute sessions.
Hooray !!
This central radiator is standard on Boxster S (and I think Cayman S|R, Spyder) with PDK.

No 3rd radiator on my spyder. :-( I had some oil and coolant overheating issues the last time out. 270F oil temp and 230F coolant. Looks like I need a 3rd radiator on my spyder too.

3rd Radiator is standard on PDK cars but not MT. It's unfortunate that Porsche didn't offer it as a performance option for the MT cars to let the owners decide if they want/need it.
