Default Squeaking shifter cables?

When my engine is not running I have some squeaking coming from the rear when I shift. Is this a common issue? Is it likely the cable's or something else? Any remedies?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure but I can tell you the factory knows it has issues with the original Spyder shifter cable. Mine popped out a couple weeks back, requiring replacement, and I was told the new part had been re-engineered by the factory to bypass a crimp.

Whether or not that has to do with your model remains to be seen.
