Bluetooth and Audio Interface modules? I finally received them (Porsche had them on backorder). Unfortunately it doesn't look like a DIY job.
Let me know,
D.

If you bought the parts from places like Sunset or Suncoast Porsche, ask the parts guys to send you the install service directions. The instructions will also list the "unit time". You can then use this as a guide to request quotes from your local dealership(s). But, they may be reluctant to install the parts, if you purchased from the outside.

I don't think so. Most dealerships bill more than $100/hour. They charge $150-200/hour in the Chicago area. And if they do the work in 90 minutes, you still pay for +3 hours.

Call around. At least you know the TU's.

Maybe a trusted indy can do it, or a highly qualified stereo/audio shop can for less.

I'd really appreciate it if you Let me know how the Porsche audio interface module works. I was tempted on ordering it too. From what I understand it does not charge your iPod/iPhone, correct (it doesn't have a USB connection)? Also, I wonder how much of the device (playlists for example) you can access through the radio interface. Thank you.

The Audio Interface kit requires PSE 3.0 (Nav). It comes with a USB, Aux and iPod connectivity. If you ordered the Audio Interface kit with the CDR30 you only get Aux, which does not support charging. Not sure if you can get or if it's worth getting it for the CDR30. I scheduled my install for Friday morning... I'll post a followup then.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, I was talking about the kit for the CDR30, that's the radio my Spyder came with.

I've seen the kit work on PSE 3.0 and I thought it worked great.

Update:
Final cost was $360! Sunset gave me an awesome deal! They always treat me good! I thought for sure since the parts and car was from Walter's and not them they wouldn't give me any deals. I was wrong.

Bluetooth Phone is fully functional. Love it! Works better than I anticipated.

Audio Interface is installed, but not functional. I'm still waiting on one code. Unfortunately just the bluetooth received the code to unlock. I should have it Monday. It's a matter of a 5 minute fix once received.

So radio and CDs for one more weekend! No biggie.
