Default know how you feel

rant is easily understood

I was almost ready to cave and get a red Spyder (especially after seeing yours)
yours looks awesome!
and the red/black on the Cayman R looks awesome as well

I guess the question for Porsche is; are they going to stand by their marketing strategy or are they going to abandon it?

Do you mind passing on the contact info so I can talk to them directly... I find it extremely difficult talking through two other middle people with the addition of delay with time zone difference. You can email it to dspyda.info@gmail.com
Thanks in advance,
Donavan

Same as JSF101 just gave you - Michael Hack at Porsche Exclusive. Michael is very detail oriented young fellow, understands the issues and gets back to you quickly. I established an email exchange with him back in October and then met him when they flew him over to the City of Angels for the LA Auto Show last Fall. Michael tells me that they are currently swamped with work. In his words: "We are very busy at the moment because there are many customers who are interested in customizing Panamera, Cayenne and 911 Turbo S or GTS models".

Cayman, I will email you a photo of the 'Gulf Orange' PTS MY2008 911 in my files, just in case you want to expand your color horizons. Best of luck with your PTS Spyder order. Saludos, z356 (Carmel)

I talked to Mr. Hack tonight. He stated that colors have to be tested for all materials. Dolphin Grey isn't approved for the Spyder materials to meet their quality standards. He also stated that although colors are approved previously they can be rejected later. He suggested that I select Arrow Gray Metallic? A color very close to Dolphin. He is sending me a photo and paint code. Apparently someone recently did it in a Boxster. Once I get the info I'll post it. I tried to do a search on the web with no luck. Maybe he said Pearl Gray?!?! Either way he said although it's technically a metallic it appears as a solid.
We'll see...

Dear Mr. Harris,

as discussed this morning you will find attached a picture of a Boxster S in Arrow Grey metallic (colour code Y66). The German translation is "Pfeilgrau perleffekt".

After reading your email regarding the several colour I also have to tell you, that GT3 RS orange is no longer available, because the paint supplier does not offer this colour anymore at the moment. But as you can see on one of the pictures (The Carrera GTS in the back) we have a so called "Pastell orange" (Colour Code Z17).

Both colours were able to be painted in November/December 2010. So the chance is very high, that these colours could be painted another time. But as allready mentioned on the phone, there is still a risk, that the supplier produces the paint with another mixture and that therefore the paint looks different on the several body parts (because of the different materials) which would cause a rejection by the production department.

Please do not hesitate to contact me again, if you have further questions.

Best regards

Michael Hack

I have forwarded this info to Joe West @ PCNA

Hopefully it's not too late.

I like the Arrow Grey, looks really nice and would look good with Black Wheels. Is this the color you're considering or are you sticking with the orange?

I will try to attempt Arrow Grey, hopefully they don't close the PTS door on me. Hopefully my dealer can provide some more insight today.

Dealer just contacted me to let me know that I missed the boat!
I no longer have the opportunity for a PTS Spyder.

That is incredibly lame considering it wasn't your fault.

order an arctic spyder with cocoa leather/black alcantara interior and ask for a substantial discount for all the hardship they put you through.
