Price check for 2011 Boxster S lease.
The pre-owned car I was looking at sold. So, I'm looking at a 3 year lease on a 2011 Boxster S. I'd rather just lease 2-3 years since the 981 is about a year away. It's just the lease quotes I'm getting on a 2011 Boxster S seem rather high.
I have a quote for a $72,000 car discounted to $66,000 and it's
$5,000 drive off, $863 with Los Angeles' 9.75% tax, 36 months, and 10K miles.
There's also another Boxster S that's $64,000, however, I"m not sure what they're discounting it too. The lease would be $5,000 drive off, $787 w/ L.A.'s tax, 36 months, and 10K miles.
Do you think this prices are standard? Over the past few years, Walter's Porsche in Riverside frequently advertised a lease special for a $64,000 Boxster S that was $600 per month (about $660 with L.A.'s tax), $5,000 drive off, and 10K a year. I've seen other Los Angeles dealer have similar special towards the end of 2010. Unfortunately, I was still to deep in my Audi' lease at that time to take advantage of it.

Lease specials are not dealer driven, iirc, but by factory to dealer incentives to move old/stale product.
I don't know much about your specific question, but boy that seems like a lot of money. Must be financing a lot of "depreciation"
isn't the 981 the 911 replacement? Why lease a boxster in the interim.. why not look for a 997?

Factor rebates. That's why I was thinking. I think there was a factory cash programs in December. Now, Porsche has rolled out with a conquest program where they'll pay up to $4,500 of a non-Porsche owner's lease.
Right now, looks like everythng's moved up a notch. Base Boxster prices are close to where the Boxster S use to be, and Boxster S prices are were the Spyder use to be and a little less than the 911 base. Some of the Boxster S quote I got were in the $950 range for a $72K car.
The 981 will be the next generation Boxster and the 991 will be the Carrera. I had hope the new Boxster would show up at Geneva but it looks like it will be in Detroit. The new Carrera is suppose to show up at Frankfurt in September. I actually prefer the Boxster over the 911. I don't really like the feel of an engine in the rear.

This was really helpful when I was calculating various leasing options.

Just keep in mind that it has one bug where it does not take sales tax of the downpayment into account.

Take a look at 24 month lease too--payment should be very close to the 36 month with the programs in place.
Racer--981 is 987 replacement, 991 is 997 replacement.

Allan - one other things to consider is that Porsche Finance also has what's called a Maximum Retail Price which they use as the price to work the residual % off of. It varies by car. For the Spyder, it was $71,500 for the 6MT and $74,500 for PDK when I was doing my research. The actual selling price can be higher but the actual residual is calculated off the lower of the MRP or the selling price.

Right now there isnt any "trunk" money on the Boxsters. Dealers are being aggresive on the cars, with hopes of gaining a "build" slot for this year. Believe it or not, dealers getting Boxsters right now is tough. If you have any more questions, PM me. I think the payments they were giving you are aggressive.

THANK YOU ALL!!! I GOT IT!!!! I got my 2011 Boxster S, speed speed from Tom Siegal at Santa Barbara Porsche*. It's a $64K car discounted to $56.6K. I put $2,500 drive off, 10K miles a year, for 24 months at $750 per month (this includes CA's 9.75% tax). Originally, this was a deal for 36 months but as BSL, mentioned, Porsche offered a 24 month lease for the same amount. Down side, it's a manual and my wife can't drive manual.
