Default Is this a good deal: $50K for a 2009 Boxster S (executive car)

Do you guys think this is a good deal? Should I ask for $50K out the door? About $44K?

2009 Boxster S in Ruby Red / Beige
Mileage: 3,365
It's also a CPO'ed car.
• 686 - XM Radio
• 640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
• 541 - Seat Ventilation
• XSC - Porsche Crest in Headrest
• 551 - Porsche Windstop (Deflector)
• 419 - 19" Carrera S II wheel
• P23 - PCM 3.0 w/ Extended Navigation
• 619 - Bluetooth Interface for Mobile
• 810 - Floor Mats in Interior Color
• P15 - Power Seat Package
• 342 - Heated Front Seats
• P12 - Self-Dim Mirrors & Rain Sensor
• 870 - Universal Audio Interface
• 573 - Automatic Climate Control
• 250 - 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung
• 680 - Bose High End Sound

Is there anything I should be looking out for? This would be my first CPO car.

Make sure you review a print-out off the DME and look at the 6 ranges of over-revs.

what's the window sticker? Some folks are finding 20 - 25% off SPR for 1 yr old (new) left overs. This car is used, though carries a CPO, so one could reason that's a wash (new vs. low-mile CPO used).

Thanks. I'm going to pass on this car. I had a chance to see it today and didn't really like the beige interior.

A bit too late but for some comparison I bought a new (never registered) and with less than 70 miles on its odometer 2008 Cayman S in April of 2009 for $50K. (Marked down from over $62K.)

Now while I've been told the Boxster market is a bit less soft nowadays cause Porsche has cut back on production I believe that $50K for the car you describe above is high.

How high I can't say cause I haven't done any in-depth market price research on the Boxster (or Cayman) but it is high.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Thanks. Incidentally, the dealer had an identical executive's car (exact same specs). It was in their service bay due to a broken tail light and they did have the keys for this one. I sat inside it and noticed a terrible smell. I think the executive may have died in there.

And you guys are right, there are 2010 still with deep discounts.

Not to be fresh or anything, but w/ PDK? Am I missing something?

Anyway, for a 'stock' Boxster S, that is pretty well optioned (at least $15k worth). Most of the '09-'10 Boxsters I see have far less equipment.

Because my wife can't drive stick and isn't interested in learning. And I do drive in some traffic but that's not a major factor.

Just to add 2 cents... 10 months ago, I got a never titled '09 Boxster (new) with a few hundred miles - very well optioned with a sticker just a tick south of $60K. I paid $44K, which is a 25% discount. I was (am) very happy.

No not you Allan ... AFAIK, PDK equipped cars cannot have any type of overrev. Total processor control up and down the gears.

You know, it's really hard to take advantage of these new 2010 Boxster S sale prices with the uncertainty of Detroit and Geneva just a few day and weeks away.

What do you think Porsche is going to reveal re: Boxster/Cayman at either Detroit in Jan of 2011 or Geneva in March of 2011? I don't expect anything new on that topic at either event. The next Boxster /Cayman platform will be a MY2013 and probably introduced early in the Spring of 2012, over one year away! z356
