just saw, besides the doors the weight savings seems to only come from removing stuff... and the 10HP extra..
what i find ironic is many buyers will more than likely add radio+A/C and put back half the weight savings...
anyone else hoping for more? like more of how the GT3 is to the 911 (more than 10hp extra, weight savings that doesn't just remove necessary items, radically diff/noticeable bumpers...)

Surely the suspension is tightened like the Boxster Spyder? From what I hear that car is very much about feel over outright numbers. But to your point, I'd also like to see greater weight savings.

Underwhelming debut, but I bet its actually a great car when outfitted with PSE, coupled with the mech. diff and the spyder suspension. However, I'd be dropping $75k on a used 997.1 GT3 long before I shelled out for this car.

Total weight savings of 121 lbs (55 kg)
Alum doors 33 lbs (15 kg)
A/C 26 lbs (12 kg)
Seats 26 lbs (12 kg)
Wheels weigh 88 lbs (40 kg) total, the 19” Carrerra S wheels weight in at 100 lbs so let’s say it’s a savings of 12 lbs (6 kg)
22 lbs (10 kg) for stereo and speakers, cup holders? Or are they including the optional lithium-ion lightweight battery or PCCB’s in the weight loss program?
I think it would have sparked more interest if it they made it with 350 hp, I am not biting I’ll wait for the next gen.
I am not that impressed with the weight savings, with the exception of the A/C delete and doors I can lose the same weight on the existing model and I want A/C.

All of the early speculation had me wanting different steering -- preferably manual steering -- but something more feelsome than the current Cayman. I see no mention of what rumors a few months ago had described as "revalved steering."
There should be so much more improvement after all the rumors and salivation. What we get is "Peridot" paint. And that Metrosexual dance music in their ad? I feel foolish for even caring about this in the first place.

Are you surprised? This car can't out perform a 911, and all of the things we're asking for would make it out perform a 911. Soundly.

No, I guess not surprised, but I had held out a small measure of hope that they would turn out something special, at least something markedly different and more involving (if not dramatically faster). When you inspire a sense of loathing in your customers, something is wrong. Or, maybe I'm just not their customer anymore.

It's disappointing when a car has so much potential, and yet the manufacturer won't exploit it to its fullest because of marketing and "price point".

I am just wondering if the 10hp they got is from removing the A/C?
