Does anyone have one of these? I am thinking about purchasing a 2008 that is still new. I can't stand the white wheels, but the car comes with alot of options that I like and I think those wheels would look great painted black. Do you think that a regular body shop could paint them?

photos This black car has painted sport designs. Does anyone think those would look good on this white car?

I have the same wheels on my car, but mine are silver. I love the car, but those wheels can be a bit of work to clean.
I really don't think black alloys look good on any car other than Fuchs alloys on a vintage 911 or 930.
IMHO black alloys just blend into the tire and don't do anything for most cars' apprearance. But I imagine black wheels might be easier to live with or keep clean than white.
Best regards,
Dino

I talked to a guy about stripping off the white paint and powdercoating them black. I might get used to the white wheels, my girlfreind likes them. I would really like to put some HRe P40s on it. It is part of the package though and I think there are only about 50 of these in the US.

I've seen it in person and I'd rather have a regular Boxster S.
But if Kris K is interested in a Design Edition 2 that would not need to have the wheels repainted, there is one in Boston with 19" Carrera sport wheels, which are gray. I think the gray Carrera sport wheels are a big improvement over white wheels on that car.

In person the car looks much better and I don't think the wheels need anything, I'm sure it would look better with the gray carrera sports. I have a 2007 C2S slate grey with carrera sports and I love that combo. I flew from Pittsburgh to Va yesterday and drove that white car home. After driving it 265 miles just before the snow storm hit I really like the car even the white wheels. The interior with the full leather and the alcantara is especially nice. I don't know why these weren't selling maybe the high window stickers as you could buy a Carrera for what the sticker was on this car. I did get the watch. It is an awsome watch all titanium with swiss movement. The watch comes with the car. The dealer should not be able to withold it if you purchase the car. When I arrived at the dealer yesterday that was the first thing I asked for. The watch retails for about $5600. They did change the oil but the warranty was punched Jan 16 2009 which makes the warranty 11 months short. This was this dealers last 2008. They have been unloading them for weeks at great prices. These guys at Arlington Porsche are excellent and I was very pleased with the buying process there. They do try to charge a $399 paperwork fee for every car they sell but I wasn't paying it.

The amazing price which I think there are still a few out there to be had was 37% off sticker. This car was $82,895. I gave 52K for it with an oil change including the watch. The car had never been titled and had 96 miles on it when I picked it up. I am pretty happy with the deal.

Darn... I was hoping no one else would see that car. I was going after it after the holidays.
Congrats. I feel this color combo is unique. Now I'll search for RS60.

the stripes can peel off which immo takes it back to a good looking car.

But, just think, in 25 years, these cars will be worth just that much more with their original white wheels in place...!
