I think with fewer "new" 08s on left dealers floor plans, dealers felt less inclined to give really deep discounts. I know one dealer thats still sitting on a Design Edition 2 and an RS60 Spyder (which had its warranty punched in June or July 2008).

Which dealer is it. I'm in the market for a new one.

Hi Cas,

The dealer I was referring to was Herb Chambers Porsche in Boston. I looked at an RS60, not the Design Edition 2 (although they have one of those also). If you check their new car inventory for Boxsters, I believe both the RS60 and the Design Ed 2 are still in stock.

Best regards,
Dino

Hi Cas,

Slight correction, the RS60 can be view in their new car inventory catagor. The Design Edition 2 can be viewed in their pre-owned catagory, but according to the website it only has a little over 100 miles.

Best regards,
Dino

Here is the photo from the brochure. I am wearing mine now, but with the black band that was on it. I would say the white band is for women. The white band is real calf 's leather and in the display box. The watch is a dashboard model but limited to 500 just like the car.

After driving it 265 miles just before the snow storm hit I really like the car even the white wheels. The interior with the full leather and the alcantara is especially nice. I don't know why these weren't selling maybe the high window stickers as you could buy a Carrera for what the sticker was on this car. I did get the watch. It is an awsome watch all titanium with swiss movement. The watch comes with the car. The dealer should not be able to withold it if you purchase the car. When I arrived at the dealer yesterday that was the first thing I asked for. The watch retails for about $5600. They did change the oil but the warranty was punched Jan 16 2009 which makes the warranty 11 months short. This was this dealers last 2008. They have been unloading them for weeks at great prices. These guys at Arlington Porsche are excellent and I was very pleased with the buying process there. They do try to charge a $399 paperwork fee for every car they sell but I wasn't paying it.
Yes David the manager is great. I almost bought the same car back in Aug but picked up a 09 yellow boxster instead...its a great car too I sat in it but I too just couldn't stand the wheels and the white interior paint as well. Too difficult to keep clean in my world. So I passed.

Congrats. I feel this color combo is unique. Now I'll search for RS60.
They did have a RS60 when I was there in Aug too...it was between that Sport design, the RS60 and the 2009 Boxster....I went with the 2009 due to the color combo and new engine but all 3 are great cars! Enjoy!

But, just think, in 25 years, these cars will be worth just that much more with their original white wheels in place...!
I agree with you. Not just the white wheels but the car in general. There's only 50 in North America and that make them really unique.

Congrats Cas!

I'm sure you will really enjoy it. Sounds like a great way to ring in the New Year. What options does your car have? I look forward to seeing more photos when the car arrives.

Best regards,
Dino

My wife claims it's for her but she still has hers and she wants the tip transmission. This one is a 6 spd so she won't be driving it much. Yes I'm keeping both Boxsters and the 88 951 s.
