3.8L 450HP, 2950lbs, 3.9secs to 60mph, 200mph, 0.27cd, 7speed PDK, Carbon fiber seats, doors, roof,fenders & bumpers, standard PCCB, under $70,000, anyone interested?

unfortunately most Cayman S models end up costing over $70K. but yeah ,an RS model would be nice .

70,000 would be base price, incl all race goodies, alcantara thick steering wheel& manual carbon bucket sport seat w/ 5 point harness, lexan windows, short shifter, extra downforce carbon wing.
Who would add Bose, electric seat, multifuction wheel, phone, fancy colour and interior, and other luxury items.
RS is for driving! Buy a Benz for luxury.
Save your $10,000 options for aftermarket engine ugrade to push to 500HP!!!

the spec you presented will be at least $100k, and if it become available at that price, with dry sump, sign me up.

If a split case, dry sump engined Cayman with a G50 gear cluster in the gearbox comes along, count me in even at 100K with or without the PCCB

That would be an unbelievable machine. Though I've sworn for years I'd never spend more than 100k on an automobile, that might be one for a violation of core principles!

It's funny to see Porsche trying to beat the laws of physics against Ferrari F430 in FIA GT2 class this year.

Every single dedicated racing car on the planet is mid-engined, even the RS Spyder.

How long will it take Porsche to realize that they should just give up and market the 911 as a luxury GT and get on with making the Cayman platform into the racing car.

Mind Over Motorsports in San Diego has built a Cayman with a 3.8RS split case dry sump engine.

I think some of us would be happy with 2800ish lbs, limited slip, decent suspension. Just make the car that should have been built in the first place.

I haven't personally lifted engines into and out of the Cayman, but I have seen them being worked on, in interestingb places.

Its fairly straight forward to replace the stock Audi gearbox with a PAG box, see the Ruf 3800 K.

I am told that fitting the dry sump split case block into the Cayman is difficult, so they run with the wet sump engine and a PAG gearbox.

However, the race Cayman of Alzen uses the dry sump engine, however hacking a race car around is easier than it is with a road car.

This leaves several of us with a wait whilst the problem of fitting a quart into a pint pot is resolved.

Remember that song, "To dream, the impossible dream". Porsche couldn't make enough of these to keep up with demand at "Under $70,000". Carbon fiber doors?, roof, fenders and bumpers? Do you know what AG charged for a little CF shift **** and brake handle? Let's all get back to work now and stop day dreaming.
