I took my 996tt in for service and they gave me a new Cayman S with 10 mi's on it for a loaner car.
I have to say i really didnt belive all the good things i heard about it until ive been driving it.
I found out just how good it handles today when a suburban pulled out in front of me and i almost broadsided it. I was going about 60 and was able to drift in front if it and around back into my lane with almost no effort. Any other car and I would have been spinning round and round.
Anyyhow, im enjoying it.

interesting coincidence of sorts since the 2nd Pcar I'm considering is a CaymanS or a 996TT.
If there were a C4S with a dry sump I'd probably pass on a 996TT altogether.
I'm not "power hungry" by any means but a 996TT engine seems like the best value for the buck.
Aesthetically the CaymanS would have me in a financial black hole because I know I'd end up giving Tech Art a big chunk of my hard earned caysh.
On handling I think the CaymanS makes the TT feel like an Oprah Porsche... Expensive and heavy.

Id have to agree about the TT beingthe best value right now... I think the caymanS is a great daily driver and better track car. But I still woudl'nt trade the TT for it permenantly. The TT is sosooo much power its addictive.
I do think however, if i had been driving the TT today, i would have hit thet SUV.

Yeah then you are going to want to take a look at the link below...could be the ultimate Cayman...or Porsche for that matter!!
It's got all the right parts and the look is to die for (IMO).

you might be referring to the Mspeed and the Alzen cayman. they reportedly are using RSR engines (~500HP) with sequential shifters.
