I've been trying to push you into a 3.8L for months... I think I'll have to get fast enough to beat you at the track to make it happen... nothing else seems to be working. Should be doable with 230WHP in an Elise at Thunderhill. Watch out next year Better get that 3.8L before then... ha ha ha

I haven't heard any issues about ForcedFed delivering cars recently... dunno for sure though... don't want a turbo.

yup, upgrade to exige s is too expensive, especially when it means selling a car.

I see some of you guys talk really seriously about this amazing Cayman. In what price range are we talking about?? Are they really going to build 20 of them?

Thanks for the info.

Good thing you and I are on opposite coasts. I have had too much tonight as well, but I think if we were on the same side of the country we would be way too bad of an influence on each other.

when i chatted with them, they say they will do 20 GTR and no more. a GTR not only has the motor mod, it also has the 997gt3 nose, and 997 fenders/head lights. after that, they will continue to build 3.8L if there's demand, but will not have the cosmetics, thus not "GTR" per se.

GTS is 118k, aghast.
included a new cayman s, pccb, jic coil over, sway bar, custom header, exhasut, ecu, 19" fikses, carbon mirror housing, rear spoiler... i may be foregtting a few things but that's about it. oh LSD too. no interior changes (that's extra).

I am not sure that I care about the cosmetics, or about having a real GTR. Having a sleeper, well, as much of a sleeper as a viper green porsche can be, is really appealing to me. Can you imagine the look on people's faces when a debadged Cayman eats their lunch?

precisely. at the time i spoke with them they will not build anything other than full blown GTR, things may have changed now, i am not sure.

i dont car for the 997 nose in fact i like cyaman nose much better. and i hate carbon parts. they are all fake. i have enough carbon bike frames, no carbon on cars for me.

i also dont care for jic coil overs or 19" wheels.

just give me the motor and the LSD and call it a day ;-)

So the GTR or GTS is 118K

So if I get this straight, if one would want to reproduce this kit on is own he would....

A- Buy the car (cayman S) 60+K
B- the motor....... +/- 35K
C- suspension +/- 3.5K
D- Wheels and tires +/- 4K
E- Nose job... Humm +/- 4.5K
F- LSD +/- 2.5K
G- Sway bars +/- 1.5K
H- Misc. +/- 1.5K

Total: 112.5K

I might be way off on some prices but this gives me a rough idea on how much it would cost. You could lower the purchase price of the car since the entire engine will be trashed but still.....

So any of you guys really considering it!!!!
