Boxsters are also assembled there. Valmet is an assembly plant that has assembled other makes in the past.

Cayman S and Boxster are assembled for Porsche at Valmet Automotive in Uusikaupunki, Finland. I have read that the engines, transmissions and other major production components for the Cayman come from Stuttgart where the Boxster S is built. Valmet bills itself as the world's northernmost car factory and the only one in Finland. Uusikaupunki is a port city located on the Southwest coast. I believe that is the port of embarkation once a vehicle has been produced. Valmet has been producing cars for more than 30 years, including models for Saab and Porsche. They must be good otherwise Porsche wouldn't trust them with a new model.

yeah I read that too. Apparently assembly workers in Finland have a higher level of education then the Germans who employ allot of North African immigrants of lower educational levels.

JUP,no immigrants here.... And you all can check your Boxster and CaymanS manufacturing plant from your car's VIN. Like WPO ZZZ **Z*U *****,where U is for Uusikaupunki, when S is for Stuttgart and my 951 has N for Neckarsulm,an Audi plant. And Cayennes should have L as Leipzig.
Greetings from Finland!

PAG Zuffenhausen is famous for the number of German greybeards it employs compared to other auto makers.
FYI, the predominant immigrant group employed in the car business in Germany is Turkish. Turks do NOT come from North Africa. A great many Turks are highly educated and occupy very senior positions within the German auto industry.

When I got me '06 CS in January, there was a one page sheet of paper in the glove box from Valmet.....not being fluent in Finn, I have no clue, but I am guessing it is some sort of build sheet.
