Took Delivary Today
I took delivary of my white Cayman S today at Braman in West Palm Beach. Drove it by Orbit Racing to let them take a look, they should get theirs tomorrow. Plan on having Orbit install a roll bar and harness and driving it at sebring next weekend at the PBOC Winterfest. I traded an 05 Boxster S and once owned a 04 GT3. In the short 35 mile drive it feels more like the GT3 than the Boxster. I also have a 05 Cup car that I race and this made the Boxster somewhat disapointing on the track. I have high hopes for this car and will let everyone know how it feels at Sebring. I also welcome any ideas to make it a worthy DE car.

Do you know if the non-PASM is softer than the Normal settings softest?

indirectly no...
i dorve 997s with psam, cyaman without.
in the soft pams setting of 997s, it feels softer than cayman.
i feel that on street use, cayman is just firm enough to do enough "risky" for lack of better word (my bad english) driving that i can't see you want it stiffer, and i like stiff cars as all my other cars are stiff enough to rattle your kidney to pieces.
on track, i can say standar cayman S is on the soft side and i can see it lean/roll a lot on corners.

Based on a recent weekend test drive w/a 2006 Boxster S w/PASM which was consistent w/the Cayman mag articles, PASM normal is softer than non-PASM. PASM sport is much stiffer than non-PASM.
In the 987S PASM normal had a compliant & comfortable ride over bad roads, but tightened up nicely & instantly when pushed. PASM sport was bone jarring on all but smooth roads - it's for track/highway use. Seems like an ideal mix for the occasional DE.

I look forward to hearing your impressions after Sebring... I'm just curious also, if you happen to record a lap time...

Non-PASM seems just right for the average non-track day person. If normal is soft and sport is bone-jarring, than non-PASM is probably just right for aggressive driving on fun streets and back roads.
