My bad, I'm still stuck on the rear deck Bose speaker subs - I added a used one in my '08 Boxster, forgot about the passenger footwell one!

Some of us have limited mobility and range of motion, so turning around in a tight cabin isn't quite as easy as it used to be. Also, some of us aren't as perfect as others. Didn't realize wanting an assist was such a crazy desire.

I'm far, far from perfect. Driving with significant reduction in mobility is for another thread and is also something that we will all get to experience (if lucky). I just feel that 1) camera dependance is not good in any vehicle and 2) these vehicles are small enough that it's not a necessity, though I understand why you would choose to have it.

Default Wireless CarPlay Adapter

I have a 986 with PCCM installed. I can confirm it works with this wireless CarPlay adapter from Amazon. Because the USB connector is on breakout box, I was able to hide everything (breakout box and converter) below the center dash near the firewall.

I got the best price on my PCCM from Porsche Parts Now.

Porsche Radios 2003 - 2008 CDR24 / CDR23 / PCM 2
Radios from this time period were not manufactured with a simple rear-panel connection for aux. These radios will need to be removed and shipped to us for a “hard-wired” Bluetooth streaming modification. Due to limitations in the audio circuit, Input is processed in Mono. All speakers are active. There will be no stereo separation. $125

Save the money and for $15 you can have BlueTooth stereo audio streaming from your iPhone or Android device.

After giving up on the Porsche unit I said screw it i can't live without blue tooth in my car so I bought one of these
The good: The seller has great customer service, Very responsive, Once I ordered I had it in a week
The unit integrates perfectly, sounds and functions correctly, The appearance is very factory looking,
Bear in mind I'm no audiophile
The bad: There are no instructions at all. At first I was a little put off by this but then said effit I'll just give it a shot
I have been a Porsche mech for quite a while so do have some experience but basically I just plugged it all in
Getting the radio and the adapters wiring etc in the dash was a bit of a challenge but with a lot of wiggling it all fit
The operation and getting it set up is a bit wonky (as all these things are) especialy with no instructions/guidance but I got through it

Verdict: Glad I bought seems to work great would reccomend

I've been looking to get a unit and was hoping the PCCM+ would be available, but not sure this unit is better than what's available in the aftermarket.

Yeah I'm now done with the Pioneer 4660NEX HU that I picked up. Great sound but no buttons and intermittent CarPlay is enough ... coupled with poor screen response for volume etc. I now @%$^£$ hate it. This PCCM +++ is a dream ... and I can't wait any longer. The unit above looks good ( I actually LIKE a CD player) and my only concern is the sound quality. My Hertz amp drives the OEM speakers and the quality is quite good - I'm just hoping that the sigma unit is comparable ...
Thanks for the review/update!

Yea, I would hope the testing was completed and now being moved to production. I'm just awaiting on an official press release. Surely they're not going to wait until the 997 and 987 have "classic status"? That would mean another 2 years at least.

I think they will actually. "Porsche Classic" is in the product name.
