Ordered some replacement stone guards for likely the original ones for our new to us 07 Boxster. The more I looked at them the more I didn’t like the shape or the protection they afforded so I decided to design and make my own. Made an initial template with some thin clear plastic from a couple of presentation binders. I them used the initial template to transfer over to some clear polycarbonate plastic that I got from Home Depot. Several iterations later I came up with the finial template. Found some 14mil 3M clear auto protection on EBay that is recommended by 3M for high impact areas. Obviously the cost was more than just ordering a set from Suncoast Porsche in terms of time and supplies but I feel I have improved coverage and a better visual look and have enough material to make an additional set.
As a side note the old stone guards were easily removed with a clothes steamer and carefully and slowly pulling downward not out from the paint. I wouldn’t recommend any other means to remove the factory stone guards.

Glad to make some additional sets just need to cover material cost and mailing. The thicker 14 mil genuine 3M film is a bit more pricey than their 8 ml film. Let me know what you think is reasonable. Cheers
I don't know how much the material costs, so I couldn't put a reasonable/fair price on it. How about the cost of the 14mm film divided by the number of sets you can make from the roll +additional cost for your time and postage?
The only genuine 3M SCOTCHGARD 14 mil that is used for rocker panels and high impact areas that I can find is 12 inches wide and runs a bit under $15 a foot. Even being creative it takes 30 inches to make a left and right guard. So I am thinking at $50 a pair. Looking on EBay there are a lot of cheaper replacement options. Cheers
