Pics are up. It's actually Aqua Blue Metallic, not black. I'm obviously partial to the color. It's almost the beige interior twin to mine.

With those miles and colors I bet that Spyder would fetch mid-nineties with an MT and LWBs.

The 987 Spyders may never be "collectible" like some other cars but they literally don't make cars like that anymore, and that is a rare color set. I think it's handsome.

I was lucky to find a MT/LWBS Spyder here on RL last year. Since then, I think I’ve only seen 1 or 2 in that spec come for sale. I guess I had good timing.

Your car is gorgeous. I still think about a Cayman R in that color combo that was for sale here in 2017 I wish I had gone and bought. Not much of a convertible guy unless it's dusk, dawn, or night, but love those Spyders too.

Thanks. That Cayman R was a nice one. I was not originally looking for a vert. Never considered myself much of a convertible guy, either. Then, I decided if I was only using the car during the best weather days, may as well make it a Spyder.

I check Carvana sporadically and every Cayman that comes up, 981, 987.2, pdk/6 speed, no matter what option or color is always reserved as soon as it's listed before any pictures are uploaded. I've no idea how people are jumping on them so quick. I've seen one 2009 Cayman S manual with 55k miles for 33k black on black which seems like a good deal. It seems Carvana is going by straight book prices and good deals can be had as long as you're able to jump on them somehow when they come up for sale.

IIRC there is a huge, deep scratch on that car. Or maybe I'm thinking of a similar car on cars.com.
The point remains, people are snatching up these cars immediately. The market is very hot right now. Probably because the 718 sounds so bad. There are TONS of those cars on the used market.

It was back in early Jan when I was in the market I saw the black manual 987.2S come up on Carvana. I think it's the only S manual I've seen come up for sale on there. I remember it was listed for 33k which I thought was very fair for an S but my wife and I agreed to stay below 30k after TTL and it was already reserved anyway.

No doubt the market is hot, I'm still baffled how fast they're reserved. Personally I would look for a 997 if I had budget for a 718 but the 997 market looks like it's even hotter than the 987.

My experience with Carvana... you can't check sporadically. If you stay on top of it, you can certainly jump in. I managed to find mine that way... and I put a deposit before any photos were available. You just have to be quick and lucky... of course, the deposit is refundable anyway, so it doesn't hurt to just lock it in if it's available. I guess I got lucky, but I was also quick to jump, so you just have to be ready. I think that guidance goes for any dealer these days, honestly. I saw a few pop up locally that disappeared before I got to even test drive them... that's the market today.
