Wow that is odd, a wired phone in an 06?? Havent seen one of those since early nineties. I cant imagine why someone would have gone through the time and expense to put such an old phone in a new car in 06.
Has to be a custom install, and from the looks of it, high end.
EDIT: I stand corrected, phone handset was still an option in 06.. WOW
Option I666: -2008 PCM 2, 2009- PCM 3 telephone (GSM)

IMHO... if you plan on holding on to this car... in the hopes of it appreciating to "collectible" status... keeping that gem intact would just add to the "classic" pedigree of the vehicle. That's a classic example of "old school" technology!

A good upholstery shop would be able to work up color-matched plugs to fill/cover any holes left in the dash after removing the phone. Not ideal, but not in the driver's line of sight, so not a real big deal. If the rest of the car is what you want, I wouldn't let this be a deal breaker. You'll get parking lot dings that will bother you more.

Nope, first, it's a tip, probably not worth holding as an investment. I'd tune it and add a soul performance exhaust and drive it like it was meant to be driven once or twice a week weather permitting, and 1wk in the mountains when hanging with this group (brbs.org)
Here's the actual listing, I think it's a sharp looking car for an 06, the headliner is already fixed and done well. https://www.porscheofkingsautomall.c...8800608050.htm
It's factory for sure, more than just holes, it would like be easiest to source a new center console piece from a junkyard or part-out forum listing. Or fabricate it into a cell phone holder w/wireless charging

Looking at this link ( https://www.stuttcars.com/technical/...man-987-06-07/ ), it looks like Option 618, 666, and 618 relate to handsets in general, Option CEA probably refers to your leather covered telephone handset. There are also telephone handset options for carbon, sycamore, makassar, Alu-look and body color painted handsets.

If the rest of the car is what you want I would leave it in. Look at what a conversation starter it is on this board. Does it need it's own number or does a phone hook up to it somewhere? Is it even digitial? When did they git rid of analog cell phones?
