Default TPMS... any fitment issues with older wheels?

I'm looking to buy some older style wheels for my 987 Boxster (e.g. Cup 1, 2 wheels from the 90's or Techart…). I do want to be able to install TPMS on them. Should I be concerned that the sensors may not 'fit' on an older wheel? Thanks.

It shouldn't be a problem but you will probably have to drill a hole to use tpms.

Doesn't the TPMS use the existing valve stem hole ?

You should be able to use the snap in or clamp in tpms valves with any wheel that takes a standard valve.

I did recently learn the hard way that the 18"
Technology wheels (993 Turbo Twists) have a much smaller hole for the valve and use a proprietary valve stem available only from Porsche.

Cant use TPMS on those.

Does anyone know whether TPMS valves will fit in Porsche Cup I or Cup II wheels?

Related question regarding TPMS... If I install wheels without TPMS, will the car give any error messages on the dash, any lights/beeps/alarms/chimes?

May be possible with a PIWIS- was on the Cayenne but that's a whole different electronics subsystem.

I have aftermarket TPMS on my Carrera Lights... never was told by the tire shop that they had to drill holes.

You will get an error message. However, Durametric can code this to "off"
