I have the standard 3 spoke plastic wheel. I know some cars have the optional 3 spoke chromey looking one. Are they both the same size? Has anyone compared them?

To my understanding, any difference in diameter is less than 1/4 inch (0.5 cm)

 

I'd be interested in knowing the thickness of the wheels and their differences. I feel the stock wheel is too thin

 

Sport Design as well as GT steering wheels are both thicker and smaller in diameter.

for what it’s worth I’ve seen eBay postings say they are both ~370mm

 

When I compared mine, the Sport Design wheel was 10mm or so smaller in diameter, with definitely a thicker rim.

A recommended change, not just for my reason - swapping buttons for paddles.

 

I have done the same ony my 987.2 although its a manual. Mainly for appearance although i prefer it to hold as well.

 

If it has paddles, no thumbs, It can look like this as far as I'm concerned...

I bought mine - removed from a new 911 - for about USD750 on Yafuoku.
eBay too I am sure has a range as well.

If you stay away from carbon, heating, and multi-function (as I did), you can keep the cost down.
Otherwise, they can run to over USD3000 or more.

 

Mine came from a 981 GTS paid £550. Plain black leather. In as new condition. Reused original airbag.

 

Mine was $750. It's the suede version, excellent!
