Not meant to be an article (it's an editorial), as we did a full feature on the Spyder earlier in the year, authored by PCAer and RLer PeteVB. We gave the car the cover and Back Story because, well, we just thought it looked beautiful.

But, as a thank you for joining PCA, feel free to PM me and we'll get you set up with the back issue with Pete's story (so long as we've still got them!). I'm in South Africa, so a bit challenging to check just now!

Best,

pete

Yup there was a good Spyder review in the last issue of Panorama. I haven't received the newest issue yet. If Pete can't find you a back issue, PM me and I'll make a copy of the article and send it to you.

You guys are all too nice.. Wasn't trying to complain, but yes I would love a copy of that article, even just the text from it, I know Pete had spent some serious time on it and would love to keep it with the car.

I still do not know if my Spyder made it to a boat yet after completing production on Jan 19th. But, for Houston bound folks whose Spyder completed body shop last week forward, a little research shows:
1. Dover highway is docked at Emden now and scheduled to arrive in Houston on Feb 13
2. The Adriatic Highway ETA Emden next week with an ETA in Houston of Feb 19

Its exciting as it is becoming real!

Tom,
Thanks for the translation... I went through and made some corrections... nothing big. Hopefully this helps people.

Me too. Of course I haven't driven any McClaren or Ferrari products. :-)

The video is a nice summary of this epic roadster.

Hey, I like the idea that you would need to spend 3x as much for something better.

You could probably make an argument in the opposite direction. The MX-5 at $30k is an awesome bang for the buck in sheer roadster fun. I drove the MX-5 Cup car in the Skip Barber school and loved it. I didn't love it as much as I love my Spyder however. :-)

The only "big" item we are missing is a carbon chassis and a good steering feel, both of which I experienced in a 570s and fell in love. The stiffness of a carbon chassis is like nothing else in terms of feeling like the car is made of one solid piece. The steering feel of the mclaren also made the spyders even more dull and disconnected then when I first bought it (was instantly disappointed)... If we could have a small manual transmission roadster with a carbon chassis.. THAT would be the forever car in my book.
