Except for the roof update this is the exact same car they were testing on the ring a while back... same plate number... us spec car. Must be a long term test car.

im kinda diggin the red top!
We are probably looking at the last normally aspirated Spyder. After the 718, they might very well go turbo.
If i were in the market for a new GT car, this would be it. I wouldnt bother with GT3 or GT2. This little Spyder would be it. Perfect little runabout.

Those of you that have 987/981 Spyders, how are you using the cars? My Cayman is currently my "driver," but I'm able to walk to work and driving really only happens on the weekend. We have my wife's Macan for trips/etc. We may be moving in the next few months however, which may require me to actually drive to work daily. I'm trying to figure out if it'd be silly to buy a 982 Spyder when they come out to commute during the week occasionally and serve as a weekend car. I'd probably buy something for the bad weather as well if that helps.
Dealer took my (refundable) deposit though, and I'm not sure I'm going to be able to say no if my number comes up.

I used my Spyder regularly. In the first 18 months of ownership, I racked up over 10k miles, of sheer bliss.

My Spyder is my daily for 6 months a year in NE. My commute is only 15-20 minutes. Top hasn't been a problem, down about half the time but that's not to say I didn't wish it was powered. Macan S for winter and really bad days.

Going to work rowing the gears can be fun unless you live in massive traffic.
The top has so much style!
