982 GT4 Spyder?

Cool car but they should fire the designer who picked the color. That gold is awful. I swear sometimes Porsche is trolling their customer base with some of the horrible colors they produce.

Yep. From Porsche's Press release:
https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/prod...zed-15877.html
Developing 450 horsepower, the classic sports car will celebrate its world premiere at the Porsche Rennsport Reunion in Laguna Seca (USA) on September 27, 2018. The collector’s item, which is limited to use on private tracks, will then be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta on October 27, 2018. The proceeds will be donated to the Ferry Porsche Foundation, a non-profit organization established this year to mark the “70 years of Porsche sports cars” celebrations.
Note that the RR run schedule for Thursday does say "Porsche Special Laps (reveal cars)," so it appears there will be more than just one car presented and since Project Gold is a one-of-one car I'm thinking another model will also be revealed.

I love the color, it’s classy yet sporty. But I know it really is a matter of taste.

I'm generally not a gold guy, but the first time I saw it in bright sunlight it grabbed me.
And the color certainly serves as a nice backdrop for CF!
Gotta wonder if this color will be reserved for the Exclusive Series Turbo (and Project Gold) or if it will be offered via PTS at some point down the road. Recall the '09 911 Sport Classic limited edition of 250 cars. Porsche's Press Release for that car stated it had "exclusive body paint in Sport Classic Grey," but we know that color subsequently became available through PTS. It seems color exclusivity has a limited duration in the Porsche world and my guess would be that Golden Yellow Metallic will eventually be just another color on the PTS palette.

The gold could certainly be a cool color for the new Spyder!

They should have called that gold Turbo S the Jersey Shore edition. Wonder if a gold chain and white rimmed Oakleys are an option.

I saw the same car at Porsche Newport. Not as gaudy as I thought it would be but I'd ditch the gold on the wheels. Just a little over the top for me.

If they remade Scarface, that would be the car Tony Montana would drive away from the club assassination attempt.

Yup .........anyone still believe it’s a turbo? It’s a 4.0 de-tuned just like the current 3.8l in the 981

You could hear the 0.2L diff? The 981.1 3.8L is from the 991.1 Carrera S. There’s no 4.0L in the 991.2 Carrera S so nothing to de-tune, unless you’re talking about the GT3 4.0 which is a whole another bowl of beeswax.
