This is a somewhat embarrassing post, it's basically a "what NOT to do" when applying stickers... And in one word, that can be summarized in "patience"... I didn't have enough.
Tried to tackle the Carreradecals side stripes and the Ki studios center stripes yesterday. Probably used too much soap in my spray bottle, but the stickers started bubbling like crazy. So I squeegeed them like mad trying to get them lay flat, and probably had a good result except... I could not wait long enough to remove the cover film. I think as I removed the top film, the glue binding the sticker to the car wasn't yet dry, and it would create more microbubbles, which required more squeegy work. In the end, from a few feet away it looks good, but I have quite a few stubborn bubbles which make the overall effect look less than professional.
Also, the side stripe on right side, despite measuring many times, looks slightly angled, so that's a total redo as well. Guess it's a lesson learned, bit of a wasted Saturday and a waste of $500 for the stickers, likely will take the top stripes off and leave as is, doubt KI studios offers "redo discounts".
If anyone wants to tackle stickers, don't be like me... Let everything dry for hours before even attempting removal of the sticker cover, and use a very small amount of soap in your spray bottle or the sticker glue will take forever to work.
A few during and after pics
Live and learn.

Don't kick yourself. I certainly applaud the effort. Some bold choices here and tip of the hat for taking on a very difficult DIY project. I like the decision to try the 911R look with the two-color side stripe. Nice call!

Today I did the break in oil & filter change and changed the trans axle oil too at 1960 miles.
Went with the LN Engineering spin on filter adapter and the WIX 51047 filter. After the install I realized there is a lot of room for a taller oil filter so next time I'm going with the taller WIX 551522. After attending the GT4 seminar last December at BGB and learning they use Mobil 1 0W40 in their race cars I stayed with Mobil 1 0W40. I installed a Dimple magnetic drain plug for the engine M 18 X 1.5 and an M 22 X 1.5 magnetic drain plug for the trans axle.
The trans axle oil was replaced with the stock Mobil PTX 75W90 purchased from Sun Coast in liter bottles. The trans axle would only accept 3 liters of oil not 3.2 I was expecting. The car was level on jack stands. Shifting quality is a tad smoother after the oil change but that could be break in too..
I got the UOA back for both engine and trans axle and both are normal.

I replaced the horns on my 987 and my Mazda with these Hella B133 horns.

Much better.

That looks fantastic! I had seen ghosted flat black stripes on a 987.2 Spyder years ago and I thought it looked awesome.
At some point if I get bored with the Spyders looks I will change my silver trim, wheels and stripes for a the GT3 gold colors.

OMG! I swear to you, I meant to post this a while back, got distracted, and never got around to it:
I personally love stripes and have grappled with going with the GT4 side stripe, but in silver rather than black. I want something other than black and something understated (so red for me is out), but question how silver side stripes on a GT Silver car would look. If the stripe is a dark enough silver, it might have just the right amount of contrast I'm looking for, but if the stripe is too close in color to GT Silver, it may just blend in and look weird or dumb. I'm on the fence and probably first need to order the GT4 side stripe in silver just to see how dark it is. I've been hoping some other brave soul would give it a try and posts some pics.
I also think guys with white cars have it made. You can throw practically any color graphic on a white car and it just seems to look great!
And there you go with silver stripes! LOVE IT! Discreet. Understated. More pics please when time permits!
I'm guessing the second go around with the application went much smoother.
