Thanks, I though you might like to see the subtle interior. Burmeister, red stichin and CF.

I went from 997 GTS 2wd manual to spyder and no regrets. Also overall I like the turbo modified elec steering on the spyder as well. The ratios arent as good but the change is better. I do miss the x51 top end a little so I have fitted ipd and cobb to compensate. Te difference in price between them is pure marketing. Overall the spyder make me smile more than the 997 and others who admire it seem to agree.
Unless you need the rear seats the 981 is the better car imo

Awesome! Any photos? Im going to cry when the guy picks up my 997 this week lol. It's going to be the first time is about ten years not having a fun car in the garage. Spring can't come soon enough so I can get my 981. The wife preferred the 981 we drove yesterday over the 997. Thankfully she is supportive in my porsche endevors lol

I hear you loud and clear brotha! I always feel guilty, like dropping off the family dog at the SPCA shelter or something, when ever I sell a P-car. It's tragic, a travesty! But this then quickly gets overshadowed by the fun of the new one coming in.

Question for you: why are you waiting until Spring. Car prices, especially sport cars, go up up up in spring and you have the unique opportunity during this week between Christmas and New Years to negotiate a killer deal on a 981.

Hmmm... sounds like your wife is FRUGAL like mine! What if you said "Honey, how would you like to save $5000 or LOSE $5000? The choice is yours..."

Default Good call

981 Spyder. One of the great Porsches' ever. Underrated, under valued and under priced. I love this car.

You'll never regret going for the 981 base. I haven't previously owned a Porsche and only picked mine up last June, cannot stop driving it and looking for excuses to go out and get the shopping or anything else my wife wants so I can get back in the car! I use it as a DD and in traffic so I went. PDK, but the Sports Chrono and PSE make it all worthwhile.😎. I also have a 400hp + 400 ft/lb 1966 convertible mustang with more than enough straight line performance. Whilst that is fun, you can just do anything with these cars, pick up the ironing, no problem, lie it flat on the rear shelf, groceries front trunk, cruise with good mpg to the mountains (not that I care), done. Give it a stack of accelerator on the track for a drive day, never stops giving.

Just enjoy it, best decision I've made and I'm pretty sure you'll be feeling the same.

Best wishes Les

Congratulations, rloggie, legin, Black Bart; cool looking rides. And, that black Cayman; looks mirror-finished! Stunning! (and, I don't usually like black!)

iceman: As many others pointed out, base model is a great choice. Don't be swayed by horse power, most of which you can't use on the streets, legally! Sure, you can open up for about 30 seconds or less when conditions permit. But, if you get busted, the penalties can be stiff! We all been through it! So, if you aren't tracking, my choice would be the 981 base with MT, X73 and PSE. You would be shifting at or near the red line and grinning from the glorious soundtrack. My ideal car would be 981 Spyder with less horse power, super low gearing and peak power near 8-9k! Will never exist! So, get the 2.7; you will be happy!

Thanks The _Rider,

I went with the non-metallic black , its a much darker full black and as long as you get a vinyl wrap (I had full Suntec applied) you avoid the swirls and scratches.

Cheers Les
