Getting antsy. :\ Saved for a bit over 7 years at this point, popped the deposit down to last year to ensure I was first in line, and getting the feeling I'm going to be waiting much longer than most.
This kind of stuff really gets me pissed off about dealers. It drives me nuts.

My friend received her allocation and placed her order about a month ago. I'm betting that your dealership screwed you over. What probably happened is that the allocation sales 'right' was given to a different sales adviser than the one you placed the deposit with. That guy already sold the allocation to someone else, while your guy still waits to be given an allocation that he can sell to you. So, technically, you are the first in 'his' line, but not in the dealership's line...

Glad to see the press car(s) are being spec'd with the analog dampers and transmission. Comforting to know somebody at Porsche hasn't forgotten about me...

Now time to address the power issue.

Thanks for the heads up. There is no way I could get a deposit in their hands today unfortunately.

I definitely feel my new salesman has dropped the ball. I'm placing some calls in the area to see what dealers have allocations left. If one has it, odds are they'll be getting my order tomorrow.

Thanks to all for making me confident that my new salesman has likely dropped the ball. I have a question out to him (when was your last allocation draw, when is your next) and we'll see if he gets back to me. Gut feeling is I'll get radio silence.

I don't know about 'new', but these older wooden buckets are coming for sure!

PS Ian: If you meant the new 918 type 'sport bucket seats', we expect to see them first on the MY2015 991 gt3 RS. The latter was supposed to be introduced this summer, but it may be delayed into the fall. Perhaps the 'Paris Motor Show' in October, 2014! But hopefully, sooner than that!

Hilarious! Yes, that is just what I'm looking for Eduardo. Stiff... Light... Cheap... Vintage! But not great on long road trips!

Interesting bit of information I got from a dealer I reached out to in the past 24 hours, which would very likely explain why I currently don't have an allocation with the original dealer I was working with:

"I looked into allocation for the country. There are only 36 coming, 3 of which are coming to New England. That being said, I might be able to get someone else' through a dealer trade and it would be a June build for July delivery. So if I do get it for you, I'll give you a 4% discount"

Sounds a bit suspicious to me....

Not really. When I called that dealer I mentioned that I'd be looking for a 3% minimum discount, and ideally wanted 4% as I felt that was plenty fair. They were willing to do the 4%. They're trying to do a dealer trade as we speak, in which then we'd know a build date and whether I'll move ahead.

That wouldn't surprise me. I'm not obligated to anything at this point. I can deal with an August delivery (though isn't there the summer shutdown?), but with the original dealer not responding (despite having my deposit since early September), my concern is the possibility of picking up the car with snow on the roads. =P We'll see what comes of it.

My understanding is that they don't shut down in the summer anymore, post-VAG merger.
