Has anyone figured out how to get more HP

Herman, the answer to that question is Alois Ruf. He does it by dropping in a modified engine into a Boxster or Cayman (a 981S engine is a detuned base 991 motor, no?). Not the answer you are looking for but something we should all know about re: a Boxster/Cayman hp potential!

Throttle body, plennum, flash, headers, upgraded exhaust and the under drive pulley will cost you about $4,000 plus labor, although you can do it your self. I have done these to my Cayman and I am delighted with the result.

55 HP in this car would be felt very well.
Why can't one do the same specific output from just tuning it somewhat like the 3.8S engine... no?

GentlemanRacer: Whose throttle body, plenum, flash, headers and exhaust did you use? Are you happy with the Heigo? I just bought an R and I'm thinking of doing the same.

For those that have done these mods, did you document what the Hp changes were with each step and or a before/after all steps were performed?
Most of these mods seem easily reversible, can anyone confirm?

Unfortunately I didn't have the car dyno'd before the mods and I have since learned that dyno's vary quite a bit and can be differnt from one day to the next based on temperature, humidity, maybe even the color shirt you are wearing??
The UD pulley was mostly to protect the PS pump, but they say about 6 HP. The weird part about installing the UD pulley is cutting off a hunk of the aluminum block.
The flash was Softronic, so I just downloaded the stock info via the OBD2 and then a few days later, downloaded the new information the same way I did before. Although, I did go to the shop who dyno'd the car to give me input on installation of the flash.
There is lot's of information on line for all of the mods I did.
