I'm not feeling the new 981/Cayman design. They seem bloated and the front and rear lights look odd. Of course I am biased...

Man Porsche hit a home run with the new Boxster/Cayman exterior designs. For me that is one hellofa good looking car and am wondering why anyone would shell out the extra $$$ for a 911. Glad they released the Boxster first or the wait would have killed me.

Makes me love my Cayman R even more!

Not a fan of the new design. Nothing about it looks special.

I agree, Porsche did a fantastic job with the design of the 981. The 991 is clearly being targeted to an affluent buyer looking for performance and comfort.

Hmmm... not as impressive looking as I thought it would be. With the 981 boxster being a knockout, I figured the Cayman would follow suit. The rear deck lid doesn't look as good as the 987. Maybe it's because of the masking over the taillights and the poor picture quality. I'll hold my final opinion until the official release, but as of now I'd rather have a Cayman R than the new 981 Cayman.

Hmm, a little disappointed too, but maybe it'll be better fully unclad. Looked better in the earlier artist renderings, IMHO.

Interesting ... as an e93 M3 owner, but p-car observer, I've always loved the 987 cayman but the boxster was ... not for me.

The new 981 Boxster however is pretty awesome - I'd for sure buy one, especially lightened up with ceramic brakes. hopefully Porsche exclusive will offer some more options for the interior but I digress

This new cayman though ... I'm not seeing it as revolutionary as the boxster. It's not bad, it just doesn't look compelling. That said, the 981 boxster didn't grab me until I saw the 981 911

I think we need to see the 981 Cayman without the cover over the rear glass or headlight/tail lights before judging. The lights look bigger due to the masking and the rear window looks much smaller. The front bumper looks good, much more modern and aggressive looking.

Having said that, I haven't really been wowed by any of Porsches cars since the 993, at least not until I saw the Spyder. While I do like the looks of the 987/997/991/981 none were compelling enough for me to spend my money on them. I will admit I love the GT3 RS as well (stripped down) but the prices are still to high to justify and I don't have the time or finances to track the car right now.

Still I think the 981 will do well and can only get better with updates.

Anxious to see a detailed car in good light with good photography. Not as wild about the rear shot in those photos, but love the side profile. Assuming it will have the same electric steering as the 991 and Boxster.

with masking, the rear looks pretty ugly to me. I figure they will get it right with the window and the lights.

I'll wait to see it at the show, but based on those pics, I'm pretty disappointed. I was expecting it to take the 981 Boxster styling and get closer to a CGT in looks. Instead, it's reminiscent (to me) of what Ferrari did between the 355 and the 360... it looks like the car bloated, while losing all the cool 'details'.

So far, I'm very happy to have bought when I did.

Looks great! Never liked the looks of the old Cayman with it's VW parking lights. This new car is a hugh improvement!
