First a big thanks the others members on coding with PIWIS 2 and 3.
I've always found it annoying when the car tells me when i should shift and have always wanted to remove that feature. So I went looking and found it in development mode in PIWIS 3 under:
Kombiinstrument [0x050]
Tab: Coding programing
Manual coding without coding rules
choose "all" then F12
scroll down to "Kodierwert: Codierbyte 0 ECO - Hochschaltanzeige im Sportmodus" and "Kodierwert: Codierbyte 0 ECO - Hochschaltanzeige im SportPlus-modus" select then F12
change value to "aus" then F8
When it has been successfully written, you will only get the upshift indicator in non Sport(Plus) mode.
A little further down that menu are seat belt warnings, although I've not tried them.
I have the same thing in my manual 2015 GTS, all drive modes. The feature is aimed at fuel efficiency and not performance - it's always nagging me to go to 6th whenever I'm in a lower gear.
Looking back I think further down the menu is where you can change the coolant temp display to equal the reading from the sensor. I'll check tomorrow. Also if I can find the thread
The temp sensor adjustment should be in that section for "instrument cluster" but I don't know the German term for PIWIS as I have done it with ThinkDiag. It is neat as you can see the temp slowly warm up from cold start all the way to about 205F. Then the thermostat opens and the temp drops quickly and then slowly builds back depending on driving conditions. It ironically stabilizes at or near 194 which might be how they decided to "buffer" it there. When my temp first drops it can swing as quickly as 30 degrees in 10-15 seconds (last time from 205 down to 171F) so no wonder they decided to buffer this to avoid a lot of drivers from freaking out. The temp drops so quickly on this first cycle (literally in 10 seconds) that you think you must have lost a half gallon of coolant on the highway somewhere and the sensor is no longer picking it up.
