Default Space behind the glove box

I am trying to find a spot to stash the small control box of a Mr12Volt CarPlay system. Can anyone tell me if there is empty space behind the glove box? If so how much?

I don't have the system yet so I need to get back with that information. From pictures it looks to be about 8-10 inches long, 3-4 inches wide and maybe a 1-11/2 tall.

The dimensions of the unit are 3.5 inches wide X 5.7 inches long x 1 inch tall

I was think of a place behind the dash on the driver's side of the car, but that size of a box won't fit.

If you haven't replaced your cabin filters, interior and exterior, the interior one is behind the glove box. Removing the bottom cover held with three screws, use a quarter, can be a PIA. Once removed you can see what space is available. There are YouTubes on doing the filters.

Thanks, I have replaced the cabin filter but I guess I never looked at the area carefully. I'll have another look.

Well as suggested I removed felt like panel under the glovebox and saw that there really isn't much room for my CarPlay control box. Looks like some a/c parts and the cabin filter box. Don't know why I didn't remember that from when I changed the filter.

I recently installed the Mr12Volt CarPlay system and ended up placing the unit below the steering wheel.

The installation video suggests simply sticking it there, and it seems sit there happily without moving, but I think i will also attach the wires and unit to be on the safe side.
I was thinking of gluing an L-shaped piece of plastic there with some holes along the edge that I can then strip the wires and unit to.

Did you install yours already?

I haven't installed it yet because it's being shipped. Did you install yours in a Cayman?

I have JoyeAuto box installed via zip ties to the left side of the driver's footwell, left of steering column (LHD car).

I installed the Mr 12 volt unit in a Boxter 981.
Very happy with my choice.

The question here is about where you put the control box?

Yes, have you installed the unit in your car? If so where did you put it.
