Did you take note of the build dates of the cars you programmed? In my experience the later build dates have more available options.

My GTS has a build date of 12/2014, and it had both GT3 and GT3RS available.

My indy used 3. OP runs 2, I believe. Both work.

yes I agree earlier cars had less options. Some 13 cars I had to go into engineering mode in German to get a GT3 option.

My indy used PIWIS 3, while the OP uses PIWIS 2. Both seem to do the job!

My Base was built in Feb 2015 and the GT3RS coding was available in PIWIS. It installed fine but I haven’t had chance to try it out properly and I doubt I’m experienced enough to tell the difference from the GT3 that was present previously. I’ve also added Power Steering Plus as my partner considered it a bit heavy.

I just checked my 9/2013 build car, and I only have GT3 as an option, no GT3RS.

Just did this on my 991.1S, thanks for the instructions. As others have mentioned the PIWIS 3 is a little different.

I did notice all the changes others have described, but I've only driven it about 30 miiles so far (some twisty roads, mostly freeway.) One odd thing I noticed was that pulling into my garage (which is underground in a condo with a downhill driveway) the steering at slow speed felt really heavy, much heavier than the rest of the drive. I'll have to pay attention the rest of this week to see if that was just a fluke or if the downward slope of the driveway is doing something weird in terms of putting more load on the front tires and increasing the steering weight.

Also 991.1S shows an error code on the dash after coding, but I saw there are instructions for getting rid of that error.

Sorry to reply to a super old post in this thread, but where did you get to this screen from? I have a early build (12/2011) 991 and have been trying to think about why it throws the power steering error code when switching to the GT3 calibration. I already ruled out incompatibility with power steering plus (I tested by toggling that off and on) but maybe it's looking for this GT3 strasse setting elsewhere?

I found a similar screen on in the manual coding for the EPS module, but mine actually shows 997 GT3 Strasse, not 991. Which I found really weird since the 997 had a hydraulic steering rack I believe?

Another morning of canyon carving and coding cars.

Didn't get behind the wheel of this 991.1 GT3RS but @JanssenT let me use his 981 GTS to test out the GT3 vs GT3RS EPS software. The GT3RS setting provided significantly more assistance off-center. This resulted in less effort required on turn-in but it also meant I had a harder time feeling the grip load-up/unload across the front axle. For fast driving I strongly prefer the GT3 EPS setting but I can see how people might prefer the GT3RS setting for ease of use around town.

EDIT:

Short clip of some very serious and scientific testing of the GT3 EPS on my car.

Did you get to try out the GT4 setting?
I'm hoping to have that available on my 2016 Cayman S... if not, I'll try the GT3.
