Awesome to see! I often wonder how far beyond the forums this kind of stuff spreads.

I've told 981 and 991.1 owners about this and neither one seemed interested, which really surprised me. When I had my '15 991.1 GTS rwd coupe I was all over the Porsche dealer asking if there was any software coding available, citing the GT3's better steering feel. Of course I was told nothing was available. I sold that damn car and do not miss it one bit. Numb as a Hake. You, however, are doing the very best job you can to help everyone!

I think I was able to program my steering with PIWIS3, not sure if someone has done it above. It was easier than reading the DME report for the first time for me. Also I chose the GT3 CUP car steering not the GT3 Street car. Hopefully I didn't pull a Samir.

As someone who never had or sat in a P car I don't mind the numb steering. It's at least very precise. Way less feedback than my Bmw z3 of course. The rest of the car, to me, makes up for it. Again never sat in other porsche, and probably shouldn't. Ignorance is bliss.

CUP and STREET use the same 'GT3' calibration. Did you get a chance to drive it yet?

Because my car was stuck for 2 weeks in getting warranty work done I have not driven it enough with factory steering to give the best answer. After I'm done changing some fluids and inspecting the car more I'll take it to Yosemite to get a better feel.
I have a test route I can use to compare the 2 easily when I get more time.

Good to know. I drove it for 45 minutes to do an oil change. I only drove it mostly in city, and I have only had the car for less than 1 week. Ive driven it for 10 hours on highway 1, point reyes and highway 12 with the factory steering and 45 minutes with the gt3 steering. Before driving I checked again with the computer to make sure the steering was programmed,. I forced it to program again where it said inaktiv and then again after that on Aktiv. as far as I can tell, the steering is slightly lighter at slower speeds and easier to turn and I like that and I can also feel more of the tire load up when turning tell me where force and weight are. Previously I did not feel a thing with this steering.

P.S. I love Yosemite. I live 10 hours away and I always try to make the journey every year. Starting at Tioga Pass leading into the Valley is my personal favorite:
